Dealing with Royal Mail 2nd Class - The New 2 Week Delivery Cycle

Royal Mail's new delivery system or cycle for 2nd class letters (alternate weekdays and not Saturdays) has now started as shown below.

Example: 2 Week Cycle

1st Week (Deliveries: Monday, Wednesday and Friday - No Saturday Delivery)

2nd Week (Deliveries: Tuesday and Thursday - No Saturday Delivery)

How you are dealing with the new RM 2nd class delivery system?

1. Keep free 2nd class shipping BUT extend lead times

2. Start charging P&P to cover extra cost to get item delivered 1st class or courier

3. Free delivery BUT increase item prices to cover extra cost to get item delivered 1st class or courier.

4. ?????

I have noticed some sellers are still offering free P&P in 3 days for low value, small items that will fit in an envelope i.e small stickers etc.

I have started by keeping free 2nd class BUT changing to 7 days lead time (even though I post orders everyday Mon-Fri) to see how it goes.

Interested to see what others are doing?

Extended lead time. Everyones metrics are going to be screwed no matter what you do though moving forward.

Extending lead time might help to postpone INRs but it will do nothing for your estimated delivery dates as eBay can't seem to get this right no matter what. They're 'dynamic' so if you have a track record of posting early / on time, you're punished for it.
