OK since the eBay decision to add buyer protection fee to private sellers items I am thinking of other places to sell. I have a fair amount of clothing to sell (much of it is BNWT or lightly used) that accumulated over the years. Is Vinted where everyone is buying their clothing from nowadays rather than eBay because that is what I am reading on various boards. As there is no difference between eBay or Vinted now I don't feel I should just stick to eBay anymore. eBay did not have to blindly follow Vinted but they did. They could have had a lower fixed fee, it could have been a sliding fee, or even no fees for items under £20. But they have chosen a painful approach. So is Vinted a better place to sell clothing?

I have some clothes to list on my personal account, if I ever get round to it.
I did try Vinted, after a few ridiculous offers I was then banned because apparently the high street jeans I had listed for £2.49 were fake 😄
They did unban me eventually but I think I shall probably list them here, see how things are after the 4th of Feb and if they don't sell drop them off to the charity shop.

It depends on the age demographic for your clothing.
If it's for under thirties then I'd say Vinted, if older then eBay.

Helpful. I am reading that everyone is buying their clothing on Vinted - but it seems to be fuelled by Gen Z which I will keep in mind.

Gen Z also buy on Depop.

Vinted is better as there’s more visibility
if you price your old clothes fairly cheaply they will go
here you’ll be lucky if you get 2 views over a week
you want to get rid of your old clutter vinted is the way

I've been trying it out. Listing is simple, much more structured, and searching is uncomplicated with pictures big enough to see without clicking on the item. Views are incredible, brands seem to be key and communication is easy.
It made me realise that it is not fees that needed fixing or changing. It is the usability of the platform. When you have used Vin ted you realise that eBay is a mess.
