Been wondering since eBay did the changes, do's anyone there bother watching or listening what their once happy customers think about them.
Obviously they do not because nobody likes them.
Majority saying they are thinking about leaving and jumping ship.
Wake up eBay.
Talk about keep the band playing while the ship goes down.

"Because if the moaners and whiners stopped bogarting every single thread and allowed it to be, this place could actually be useful. It could become a place where people can share ideas, engage in discussions, offer advice, lend a hand, and make more sales. "
What sort of ideas/discussions? According to your profile, you have never started a creative ideas/discussion thread yourself, so it’s not just the prevalence of SD complaining threads that have put you off. I wouldn’t mind betting that the Discussion forum has always been a place dominated by complaints - the only difference now being that a high proportion of the complaints are about just one or two issues, being SD and BPF.
If people want advice, they can avoid this Discussion section of the forum altogether and go to Member to Member support.
"the entire place isn't just the same five to ten people shouting "eBAY IS TEH WORST" over and over again"
There are a lot more than 5-10 regulars, but apart from those who post, I often notice when I look at who has given kudos to posts, either mine or others, that new or occasional names regularly crop up even if they haven’t posted.

Couldn't agree more

But those private sellers are selling as business sellers saw one last night into witchy potions etc one witchy potion how to be successful in business

I don’t think half moaning on here know there’s more places
to
sell on. I’m on several channels, one of which makes me more money in a day than a week on eBay.

Got 11 sales in one day on V on Monday. Here one or two I think
17-05-2025 1:16 PM
Who bids on things anyway? I only use buy it now!!!
17-05-2025 1:17 PM
What these people don’t seem to realise V also does the same
17-05-2025 1:34 PM
Does it work?
Feedback needed please...oh and a link

so because you cannot see something means it should not happen? That is your opinion and you are certainly entitled to it but then so are the rest of us, entitled to give ours.

obviously some of us do think e bay have messed up, what makes your opinion any better than ours. Maybe you are not sitting in the same place as we are!

Indeed, I haven't. I didn't see the point after trying to be helpful and even offering to do work for free to help certain posters, only for them to ignore the offer or tell me to sling my hook because in their eyes, they were doing everything perfectly already and the ONLY thing that would appease them would be eBay magically giving them sales.
I'm a member of a different forum/Discord that is more tailored to collectors and resellers in my specific niche. They and I all hate BPF and SD just as much as folks here do. But that place is full of folks who work together to find solutions, as opposed to throwing in the towel and blaming eBay every five minutes. It's not all sunshine and rainbows and people have a good moan every now and again. But in general, the folks there take the approach of "Well, this is here...how can we work with it?" rather than "Well, I'll never sell anything again and I guess I'm going to have to spend 20 hours a week complaining about eBay from now on."
Strangely, none of them are complaining about a lack of eBay sales. Quite the opposite, in fact.
That's partially why I can see how this forum COULD be. And you're right, it isn't that SD and BPF conversations have put me off from starting discussions. They're just the latest thing. It was managed payments, then promoted listings, then Chinese sellers/items, then HMRC, then SD, and then BPF. It's just wave after wave of negativity.

@wyntersemporium I agree V do exactly the same thing, and it’s just so uncomplicated and transparent.

Have absolutely no idea what you're referencing here.

Yes, you are. Never said any different. I would defend to the death your very right to express your opinion.
But if I have a weekly pint with my pals and the one guy orders the same brand of lager every week and then complains about it in the same way for an hour every single time for six months, before derailing every other conversation so he can complain about how much he doesn't like his drink...it probably isn't going to be very long before I say "why didn't you order something else, then?"

The difference being that Vinted did it from the start. ebay made its MBG and protection for buyers a big plus point. While ebay hasn't phrased BFG as being a replacement for the MBG an awful lot of buyers think they are paying for something they've already had and are being ripped off.

I and many others say
would you be happy with being charged 10.55 to post a 1kg medium parcel? No didn’t think so
simple delivery has too many problems to be called that

The other thing being that although they too have managed shipping it is no where near as constrictive
you chose which courier is offered (as a seller) and the choice is pretty much every one not just two
you chose which courier to use (as a buyer)
and they get shown on the order along with the price
they also have bundle shopping where postage is combined for multiple purchases from one seller
none of this pay for all the labels then get refunded palava

@selective_distribution wrote:Always amazed that people don`t seem to realize just how big Ebay is. There is not even a raindrop in the ocean if THOUSANDS of people leave. Certainly nothing like the majority leaving! Also all the messages on the forum saying "I AM LEAVING!", from people who have no intention of leaving, don`t just say it .....do it! Less competition for the rest of us.
A raindrop in the ocean. Agreed. Much more significant, IMO, is the large number complaining that sales have dropped off a cliff. Not every seller of course, but a surprisingly large number. And I don't only base that on reading here, there are other places where these things are discussed.

I bid on things, it’s fun! I also run auctions so that the market can inform me of value plus the fact I have a lot of repeat buyers indicates that they like the auctions too. I try to cater for all budgets.

When are these sellers who still come on here telling people like myself shut up you "boring Whingers" and say we should clear off if not happy with the changes eBay have made.
Why don't they admit we are right in saying eBay have done it for themselves and at our expense, that we don't like it?.
In a lot of cases now with this new complicated Simple delivery its not worth the effort listing anything small, now eBay are making extra money with their postal labels and even more from their Buyer protection, surely it must be putting both buyers and sellers off.

Personally I think starting a post that really says nothing is pointless, I don't believe you should shut up or go away, I do think you should post how BPF/Simple delivery affects your selling and buying, how you feel eBay are letting you down and taking too much control, I think you should encourage those not posting and just leaving kudos to do the same with out all the drama and I agree with your comment posts.
Reading the forums it looks like someone starts a posts claiming they are no longer selling here and are leaving because they hate eBay, Or eBay are the worst, people jump on agree and you all kudo each other, then someone else starts a similar we hate eBay post and everyone jumps on that agreeing with each other and the initial post drops off.
Not sure if eBay bother to read these posts or if they care enough but if you are trying to make them listen, give them something to listen to!!

Of course they have, that is what businesses do

It affects us all
As a buyer, if I am buying from a private seller it now costs me £0.75p plus 4% more
As a private seller I have not sold anything since BPF came in
As a business seller - Since BPF and Simple delivery came in, along with the whole app issue sales have dropped a lot.
We have Sellers paying to list and then expected to pay to be seen
We have buyers paying to buy.
I dread to think what is coming next....
