Vat Invoices

Hi,

I recently purchased a few things on ebay for my business that is VAT registered.

I was expecting to get invoices with a break down of cost including VAT charges so I can reclaim tax through the business.

It says on the ebay help page that:

"In cases where eBay has collected VAT, you'll see the VAT included in your order total at checkout, and you can view and download a tax invoice from the Order details page in your Purchase history."

But when I go on this page I cant seem to find this anywhere, all I get is the "Printer Friendly" page which is just the total cost and not the break down that I  need.

One of the purchases I made sent me a packign slip with the VAT break down, but on the order details it doesnt even list it there.

This is super confusing.

Ebay only collects VAT in very particular circumstances,  in most cases they don't, the seller does, and it's the seller that needs to give you a VAT invoice.

The guidance you refer to almost certainly doesn't apply.

VAT invoices from sellers can be very difficult to get and they don't need to provide them to private account holders.  Ebay says you need a business account for business purchases.
