I bought a print for framing, it is a sheet from an old newspaper... However, upon reciving it, I was dismayed to see a large pencilled cross drawn quite heavily, with a ruler, across complete centre of image. {a leaping horse} Someone has put ''scale marks'' on it, so clearly someone has trued to ''scale up'' the image to attempt to copy it....It is impossible to remove pencilled marks from fragile Victorian newsprint, as the eraser will remove the print, too...plus the indent from the pencil leaves a groove. Also there is repaired tear on the image... Why oh why aren't such obcious flaws noted..Silvery graphite is pretty easy to see in person. I am unsure of what category to return it under, it is damaged...but damage didn't occur in post... and seller made no description of repair or pencil scale marks that are immediately obvious in person. In the image, I thought the strange marks were ''bleed through'' from text lines on the back...It didn't occur to me that someone would sell a marked up print.
