Hi, made an offer to a seller and she asked whether I was in the US and would pay extra shipping.  I am not in the US and checked my addresses on ebay and all GB, but if I look at my profile on my ebay mobile it does say location US, now the only thing I think this could be is I signed up to ebay in 1999 under ebay.com and was wondering if that was the issue?  Or has anyone else had a similar issue? ... The buyer purchases a smartphone listed for parts only. When he gets the smartphone he compains that it doesn't work as intended (there's a reason why the phone was listed as spares and repairs only).   Despite the fact he opened a case I contested it and asked ebay to step in. Ebay claims the listing is accurate and sided with me but then advised me to issue a refund to avoid the unfortunnate scenario where I have to refund the buyer without getting the smartphone back.   The buyer has been a pain in the a*s from day 1 and now caused further damage to the smartphone. Because I am faced with prospect of been liable for custom charges, I explained to ebay I am having none of this and I won't pay a single penny more than what I supposedly have to refund the buyer.   I had listed the smartphone making it clear that I wouldn't accept returns. What is the purpose of adding "no returns accepted" if the buyers can just whine a little bit and ebay facilitates the return request? ... View more

I always filter on'UK only ' to make possible returns cheaper and easier. Also, I am suspicious of provisos put by the seller regarding possible variations in sizing, warning the purchaser that there might be shade differences 'due to my monitor'. These invariably indicate that the item will originate from/in the Far East.  But so many times the 'UK only' filter allows these items through.  Usually, the listing says the place it ships from is somewhere in the UK,  but. It's never possible to return the item to aUK address. It always needs to go back to China or similar. Could EBay be a bit more  diligent with these listings?it's very misleading ... View more

hi i purchased a playstation top up that was sent to me via email..the 12 digit code didnt work and i have not been able to get a reply from the seller.  I opened a case with ebay but was told i was not covered for a refund with buyer protection.  The seller listing showed that refunds were available and this was reassuring at the time, but now ebay has insisted that im not covered and the seller is unresponsive still.  i appealed the ebay discission not to refund me (declined) and said the seller needs to be reported. Other people have bought from this seller and have also been scammed as ebay hasnt stepped in and stopped them.  they are aware that this seller is fraudulent and are doing nothing...   What do i do to get my money back and how do i get ebay to close the seller down? thank you ... Hi    I ordered a couple of items from a seller in Hong Kong back in mid December as I had ordered from them once before with no issue. I have not received my order and it’s been a little over 2 weeks since the expected arrival date (also no update to the tracking since January 4th which just says that it’s left Hong Kong). I opened a not received item case for both items yesterday where I asked for more information  and the seller has got back to me today with the following:   'Hello, Thanks for your time. In these days, we checked the packet at Hong Kong Post and the postman said that the packet was posted by airmail. For the days before the packet left Hong Kong on Jan.4, there was limited flight to England and because the regular airmail had just resumed to the UK that time. So, it took long time for the packet arriving the UK. The postman said that the packet will arrive the UK in 1 or 2 weeks. We will keep track of it and update you with the latest delivery status. Please let us know if you have further inquiry. Thanks again for your patience and understanding.'   I don’t know what is the best thing to do now.
