PlayStation top up scam

hi i purchased a playstation top up that was sent to me via email..the 12 digit code didnt work and i have not been able to get a reply from the seller.  I opened a case with ebay but was told i was not covered for a refund with buyer protection.

The seller listing showed that refunds were available and this was reassuring at the time, but now ebay has insisted that im not covered and the seller is unresponsive still.  i appealed the ebay discission not to refund me (declined) and said the seller needs to be reported. Other people have bought from this seller and have also been scammed as ebay hasnt stepped in and stopped them.  they are aware that this seller is fraudulent and are doing nothing...

What do i do to get my money back and how do i get ebay to close the seller down?

thank you

I believe you are at a dead end. This is the problem with intangible goods sold on ebay.

If you try and open a case on Paypal you might not get your money back either because the product wasn't tracked.

The seller probably sold you a used 12-digit code.

By reporting the seller rest assured that whatever action ebay takes against him/her, would be confidential and will not be disclosed to you in line with their privacy policy.

you can try opening a PayPal case as they cover some digitally delivered items, eBay don't cover them.
