I bought a new set of wheels for my car yesterday, after someone nicked my spare set from the back yard during lockdown.... grrrrrrrr..... Anyway. I found this bloke through FB, and messaged him about them. He replied straight away with the ebay link. I won the bids, and arranged to go pick them up. All well and good. Got to his house, and paid him then and there as I hadn't paid him through eBay incase they were actually scrap, so I had the option of walking away and not waiting around for a refund. But the wheels were good, so I paid him and loaded them up. All seemed fine. On the way home I got a text from him saying that "ebay are trying to charge[him] twice, so can [I] conrifm the order has been cancelled". My first thought is that if eBay are charging him, then thats something to take up with eBay, and not me. I've now gone through the My eBay section and I can't see any way to let ebay know that I have paid for and collected the item already. All seems a bit fishy to me really. P.S. My dad had a similar experience in the early days of eBay buying a laptop. Seller cancelled before sending it out as he was asking too many questions. The police called him up a few months later to ask about the stolen laptop he'd bought off eBay. (so please excuse me worrying that I've fallen for the same thing) Any help / advice would be appreciated!
