Hi
We have been selling on ebay for over 10 years. Sales have been down since start of 2024 but its completely dead. Like we look at our stats from July to September and sales figures are less that what we are paying ebay for Promoted listings etc.
Although we have moved our inventory to Amazon and tiktok but wondered what has actually happened to our Ebay. It used to be aweseome but we now cannot even afford to list. Listings are sat there doing nothing even with promoted listings.
November has been our difficult month so far as with Zero sales i mean come on there got to be something causing this loss. Is it new so called AI.
Please share your findings.🤔🤔

re-word your titles to "refresh" the adverts, also add more pictures to listings and fill in as many attributes as you can.
The biggest improvement we noticed was when we ended over 500+ listings and just re-listed them.
Old stagment listings just slide down and down on ebay and the less they get viewed the less you slide down the pages to the point where never get seen.
Starting a fresh listing starts you back at the top of the cycle.

Ebaymag is almost dead, so not possibilty end and relist again...
Maybe only edit titles

That's all very well but why should we be paying a relisting fee? and on 500+ items you are looking at some further cost, all into ebays pocket. Or is this another greed plan? I also noted that as of last week ebay now no longer allow you to reduce the price on items once an offer has been sent out. Prior to this if offers had been sent and still no sales I could also reduce the price to shift the item out. Another pointless tweak by them making it even harder to sell stock unless you end / relist and pay another insertion fee...

Relist fee? We don't have to pay any fees under our shop plan and it's not like you have to do this often.
Remember you're only doing this because your items have not sold!
It's well worth the effort and brought us in thousands of extra sales

almost dead?
How do you figure that out?
You can get thousands of sales if your selling decent items with decent adverts behind them

Totally agree, it’s highly frustrating that you make offers as a seller and once you send an offer EBay locks your listing and your unable to edit your listing or send further offers.
EBay fees are extortionate for the little sales they generate. I’m currently trying to lower stock levels and reduce my shop subscription as I can’t afford to pay.

I mean Ebaymag almost dead ( maybe you not use Ebaymag? and dont know waht is it?)

What are adverts ?
We just put things on eBay and they are open for people to see them by eBay members.

And this is how it should be and always worked in the past, none of this pay extra to actually get traffic BS everyone is slowly being ripped off by the site more and more and yet some seem to think its ok to pay, then pay extra for actual full exposure when we used to get that anyway with the 'ebay fee' surly that's part of using the site. The more i look at ebay now its lost most of its character for unique items and pretty much resembles any other mass cheap product group such as Ali express, cheap brands or copies made cheap for cheap deals with cheap postage.

Adverts are the thing that sells your item, the text, the images, the description etc.
Make them look good and professional.
Another thing we did is stop most of our sponsored ads etc ad strangely we got more sales.
For a weeks worth of advert attention we've now got 3 times the amount of orders.
For those just grumbling and saying ebay is dead you've got no chance.
eBay still has loads of potential if you can be bothered.

"Adverts are the thing that sells your item, the text, the images, the description etc.

Oh I see I thought maybe it was some sort of advertising.
Thank you
Yes we do good detailed honest descriptions..spend a lot of time doing good pictures and good titles.
What does " key words" mean in this context.
Thanks sgain

Did you know what is it Ebaymag?

I am sorry but I have to disagree, while this may work just for your own selling page but its not realistic for the majority, a simple google search will show the sudden fail of ebay. Regardless of having to put in extra effort to squeeze some sales in, its dead - why should we be doing this now when before it worked? its not a loss in customers its a loss in faith and happiness using the platform for sellers and customers sadly. Unless you are selling tat that costs you next to nothing to buy in and can move some margins then the site really is useless to use.

It's not just ebay, we sell on 8 platforms and it's the same everywhere at the moment.
The more effort you put in the more you will get out.
If you want to just give up that's fine, just close your account down.
After listening to ebay and taking advice we've tripled our sales.
I've also help others to do similar.

Have genuinely been using ebay for 20 years now trust me there is nothing more can be done about improving photos or listings or making adverts stand out to attract buyers and sales, the traffic has dropped significantly in the past two months inline with a lot of ebays new rules, coincidently. There is no missing magic here that can be applied by changing how we advertise - Other platforms are doing far better for me such as social media sales being number 1. I get the feeling by following most of the ebay SM groups and looking at the reviews the hot topic is how useless its become - they have just gone a step too far with the messed up rules and the platform is getting unusable or annoying for most.

I think your sales x3 times is only coincidence.
Now sometimes sales stoped for one week or 2 or more, and you can do what you want. Did not help even drop price -50 percent.

I've been using ebay for 25 years and I disagree, there is plenty that can be done.
I am proof of that, ebay have been nagging me for months to take part of a program they offer and since doing it and taking advice things have improved greatly.
We do approx £50k a month across our platforms without any social media advertising what so ever!

Which program Ebay offered?

ebay pro trader program, if you google it you may be able to sign up still
