Good morning all,
I did some research last night on the types of items I usually sell well at this time of year….
I appreciate the market is forever fluctuating but this is what I found…
1) Search for tea pots (no filters) - the majority shown to me were brand new items followed by United States items with 1% being pre owned and listed by private sellers..
2) Search for tea cups and saucers - exactly the same as above result
3) Search for art glass - predominately pre owned (not surprisingly) majority listed by private sellers with 1% business seller result
4) Search for framed paintings - predominately pre owned (obviously) majority private sellers with 1% business seller result.
Underneath each search to the ‘more like this sponsored’ banner, scrolled through, to find the same outcome.
Typically, Ebay not helping small businesses with pre owned items. Above all, are they supposed to be promoting the green aspect? Reuse, repurpose, recycle, save the planet etc?
Usually, I would be selling a good amount of these items at this time of year, but it seems us small businesses that sell pre owned items are being penalised. Unless, we promote?!
My selling costs are already 48% of my sales!
Good news for anyone selling Brand New items or being a private seller (also pricing higher than businesses)
So, we are now in the minority, hence poor sells for us and profound greed by eBay.
I am running my shop down on here and will be taking my business to other platforms, unless January brings drastic changes? Doubtful at the moment.
This test, may prove useful to some of you, by searching the products you sell, if you are questioning poor sells.
