This is perhaps first Christmas where we are hitting flat zero sales with over 100 Listings.
What has gone wrong to this once wonderful ebay where we used to get many sales starting November December . Last year 2023 was okay but not great. This year we are on flat zero even weekends are dead.
Has anyone else noticed same issue. What do you think has gone wrong. People are still buying stuff other platforms amazon, tiktok but nothing on ebay.
Please share your ideas.

Trump's going to wreck the US economy. The fools who voted for him will soon find out.

Cutting prices to stay competitive is called "beggar thy neighbour". It is one of the few things eBay sellers can do but it results in no one making any money. We are not in a cult so can give up selling here at any time.

Yes, there is a permanent demand for cleaning products and eBay is a good place to find them if you aren't surrounded by retailers stocking them as I am.

You haven't a clue what your talking about, so elaborate and share your wisdom.

The words "REGULAR SALES" and "EBAY" no longer go together...
The people behind all these recent changes have now destroyed eBay... 😞 😞 🙄

If it wasnt for my regular returning customers i would have considered throwing the towel in completely with Ebay. I had a good flurry of sales from them but other than that no Christmas rush at all on here. Page views down by over 40%, overall sales down 11% on last year Christmas run up. All in all terrible but it's not just Ebay its the overall economy.
B and M were mobbed last two times i went in there in the run up to Christmas. But my local post office near enough empty all December. That tells me something. A few years ago queues outside the post office and down to the street in the two weeks before last posting date.
People know that with Royal Mails price increases they can get better deals in shops than online as the postage costs are whacking up online prices (unless your a business that starts with an A and manages its own deliveries).
All in all a dire last few months on Ebay, it went down for me from September onwards. So i dont know what changed then? Free to sell for private sellers hasnt helped me at all.
I will be expanding where i sell in the New Year and not put so many eggs in Ebay's basket thats for sure. I suggest everyone looks at the other options too as its clear to me Ebay isn't going to cover my bills going forward.

I had no sales on ebay for a while now so Christmas this year is going to be rubbish.

Tell me about it !
I'm leaving eBay after January 2025 - Their new rules and payment holds are ludicrous. 😞
It used to be great to sell on eBay, Now it is rubbish.

Would this be also whats hurting our sales?
Or is it a glitch. I dunno this place has really gone to the dogs. I have another account and sales have been dire for 2 years now.
No, it's not a glitch.
It's the new EU regulations.
As I understand it (and I may be wrong), under the Windsor Framework, we in Britain aren't allowed to sell stuff to Northern Ireland any more unless we attach safety information in 27 different languages, and appoint a representative in the EU to deal with any potential problems on your behalf, and fill in forms giving the details of materials used in the item, manufacturer's current name and address, and date of manufacture.
This basically applies to anything under 100 years old, except stamps and one-off original paintings. Even second-hand stuff, even books, even mugs or seaside souvenirs.
So if you have a burning desire to buy the 1930s snapshot of my Great-Aunt Beatrice's schoolfriend's terrier, I will have to pay a fee for a legal representative, provide you with instructions for safe use of the item, tell you what chemicals were used in the developing process, find out the name of Great-Aunt Beatrice's local chemist or next-door-neighbour who developed the photograph, ask them what year they developed it, and employ a private detective to research their "current contact details" - or the current contact details of their "legal representative" (presumably their great-grandson). The only thing I don't have to provide you with is the name of the dog.
Effectively, our government has prevented people in Northern Ireland from buying most second-hand or vintage stuff from Britain for the foreseeable future.

I do not like the EU, Never have.
Their rules are over the top.
We were supposed to have left, can't understand WHY we must still follow their awful and controlling rules 😞

The bad deal was made with the EU because Boris said he would do it (agree to a deal) by the end of 2020 or be dead in a ditch. So basically he agreed to a customs border between England, Wales and Scotland to Northern Ireland to save face so that he could say he had done Brexit after several years of May not coming up with a viable deal either.
But what he did really was use her deal anyway but rehash it. He did not do Brexit its more 'Bri - no' a half Brexit and i knew at the time it would cause trouble for us going forward but as usual the Media didn't really cover it properly at the time as BJ wanted the praise for finally doing it. But in reality we have lost Northern Ireland to the EU border.

If register correctly as a business then there will be no need to wait to get paid.

That's eBay making a distinction between big rich business sellers and poor private sellers...
eBay should treat all sellers the same - not one rule for one and another rule for the privileged few.
I will not be blackmailed - If I don't like it here, I will simply ditch eBay and sell elsewhere where I receive my money promptly and the buyer receives their goods promptly, none of this ransom payment holding nonsense that earns eBay MASSIVE INTEREST !

Well, quite.
The Irish question, unfortunately, has been resolved by calling Ulster "part of the UK", and then ceding practical sovereignty to Eire.

It's all quite here too. I thought last December was bad....And it was, but not compared to this one. Also, I seem to be massively overstocked with tumbleweeds. For the life of me I can't remember buying them in 🙂

True. We have our own brand and some unique blends and concentrations, so that does give us lots of repeat and loyal buyers. The industrial products are the most popular. However, once buyers have found our WS, eBay lose the sale. If eBay was the best answer we wouldn't have spent the time and effort to build our own WS. Can't put all the eggs in one basket these days, so will be looking around to see what else is available.
Regular cleaning stuff in retail packs have died.

I don't buy anymore so no need to change to business seller only selling off what I have left as looking to do sum thing different next year.

Started off pretty well but eased off. Impressions followed the same trend.
I seem to be unusual in that my accounts always seem to see a sales slow down about 18th December onwards, though, so this is expected for me. Sales and impressions slowed almost exactly the same this time last year. I know it's traditionally a faster month for many sellers but never has been for me.
