You are selling items to the UK from Portugal
You must register for UK VAT by law

@myriad*seller No you dont need, if you are selling on marketplace like eBay and your stock is not located in the UK at the point of sale. It was explained here many times.

Hello! I was affected by these restrictions related to VAT on UK eBay, although I and my items are located in Ukraine.

Please tell me what you did to be exempted from the need to add a UK tax number?

Write to customer service and insist on solving your issue. Do this several times if necessary. I was dealing with it for 2 weeks till I was informed it was solved for my account.

Hi!
You need to contact the customer service and ask them which of your items they think was/is located in the UK. Then send them a print screen of that item`s location proving that the item location was not in the UK. You will need, probably, contact the customer service a few times, but eventually ebay will acknowledge that it was a technical error. At least, this is my experience with this issue. Also, check the tracking information next to your sent items - if it says 'item leaving the UK' instead of 'item leaving India', bring this to eBay's attention as well.

Using a UK Registered account to sell from Slovakia ?... Since Brexit and by Default you are considered to be a UK based seller and subject to UK site VAT rules and other EU/UK Item location/s Import/Export regulations.
Consider using a Eurozone EU registered site or the International www.ebay.com site to prevent these issues.

@fargvs There is no such a thing as Eurozone EU registered site or the International eBay site.
You can list on which ever eBay site you want from which ever country, you are you just need to follow the law and rules.
In the UK, by selling in marketpalce you are not obligated to have UK VAT in case your items are not located in the UK at the point of sale. Marketplace, like in this case eBay is obligated to capture VAT on sale on behalf of UK HMRC. Only if you are not selling via marketplace, like you have own eshop and your registration address is outside of UK, then you are obligated to have UK VAT, or your goods are located in the UK at the point of sale. - Its all written in the links you provided as well 🙂
It was explained here several times, same as that this issue with UK VAT was an error caused by eBay item location bug.

As you wish ... please let us know how you are getting on after the 30 day deadline has passed.
and for clarity ...
''There is no such a thing as Eurozone EU registered site or the International eBay site.''
There are a number of Countries in the Eurozone EU with sites which you can use by choice ; and the International/Global eBay site is www.ebay.com .

No, those are called local ebay sites and ebay.com is a US not international site, same as UK is United kingdom site. Is just on the com site, there are more international sellers than on the other local sites.
What that means is that this sites are localized, like for example in the language and they must follow local site country laws.
And anyone can sell there no matter where are you from. Like you being from UK , can list on DE or IT site for example if you want, but you must follow those sites country regulations. Thats all.
What I and @tilly.matt221 are trying to tell you is that with this topic "UK VAT bug", all sellers impacted with it follow the UK regulations and its just the eBay error resulting in the UK VAT requrement message.
It was confirmed here many times.
And I am doing well and there are no restrictions on my account , like I wrote several posts back, explaining what to do to others to solve it out.
