Waiting payment after auction

This is the first time I have ever sold something on Ebay,  my item sold at auction and it is not clear to me what to do next. The only message I have is "waiting payment" there is a button that say "send payment details", however this simply informs me that I cannot send an invoice as ebay are taking care of the postage. Its been 24 hours, (I always pay straight away, can't understand why buyer hasn't). my questions to the community are; 1) is this normal, 2) what happens next, should i relist, could i get bad feedback etc. This all seems unnecessarily complicated, sorry for the noob question.

Waiting payment after auction

People tend to pay quickly these days but not all.    You will be able to issue an Unpaid Item cancellation after 4 complete days to end the transaction.   More info:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/selling/getting-paid/resolving-unpaid-items-buyers?id=4137&st=

And put their ID on your blocked bidder list:

Waiting payment after auction

Thankyou, that clears things up, I guess I was just unlucky. As a buyer I was always under the impression that when I bid on an item that, that bid was binding and I would be compelled to pay. Does the person sending the false bids be sactioned in any way, it seems to me that these auctions could easily be manipulated

It is nice if a buyer pays straight away, but there may be a valid reason for the delay. eBay will have sent them a reminder, so you might find they do pay within the time allowed - unless you have been unlucky, and they are a 'time-waster'.

If you complete the Unpaid Item cancellation the buyer gets a non-payment "strike" on their account.   Too many of those and they are suspended by ebay.

You can use this link to put a general block on buyers with a history of non-payment, etc.:

http://offer.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?BuyerBlockPreferences

tick "Update block settings for active listings" and then save changes at the bottom.
