"Your comment will please eBay no end, as they would love to see activity dying down, as, logically, that would indicate that there are fewer issues."
That's not a logical conclusion at all, there could be many other reasons, such as people having other things to do, getting bored with replying, just sitting out in the sun etc.
" it's just that most of the posts are just disappearing into a bottomless pit, and aren't really of much use to anyone coming along with a specific query."
If someone's got a specific query, the best thing for them to do is to open their own thread, as many people do.

Maybe people found better weather :O)

Yes manyjamjar … that could be the reason.

That was my reason 🙂 packed orders this morning then sacked off work in favour of a sun lounger, a beer and a book down the garden. Usually I struggle to do this but lack of sales on both private and business IDs meant I could. I have images that need photo editing for listings but Im pondering where to list them. Beer always helps with pondering!

At the risk of opening up this can of worms yet again, I don't believe there really is a drop in interest.
There were 31 posts on the catch-all thread alone yesterday, covering a variety of topics.
So there is still plenty of interest, it's just that most of the posts are just disappearing into a bottomless pit, and aren't really of much use to anyone coming along with a specific query.

maybe because people are getting fed up of having their posts rejected/removed or are simply suspended from commenting! I can say this because it is on topic and relates to the comment!

Just one thing that could be a factor, is that many posts quickly go off topic,
or some comments are taken out of context. This may put some off starting
a new thread.
Hence why I have been playing it safe. 9 out of 10 of posts I have started have
been about you-tube tips.
But compared to the toxicity of a share buying forum I lurk on (dare not post), the eBay
community seems a calm space.

I think you need to count again. There were at least 25 posts yesterday by 10am (not counting the long thread).

I think the calibre of the responses we get from the Wednesday community chat may have something to do with the disillusionment felt by many members and, as a result, has lead to less and less engagement overall across these boards. I know the team who field those questions aren’t AI but they certainly come across as such, never directly answering anything, deflecting or passing enquiries up the chain of command, and using the sort of jargon that just alienates ordinary eBay users - “visibility” and “onboarding” spring to mind. If we’re not going to get straight answers from those who ought to be in the know what’s the point in asking other users who (understandably) are less informed. I still have no idea if/when SD will be mandatory across the whole of eBay, for example.

It's alive and well, anywhere you didn't sign up to T's&C's, anywhere you can safely mention a T-square on your 1984 drawing board, anywhere you don't risk being deported to S America, anywhere...
Doesn't leave many places, but those penguins on the McDonald islands that got hit with tariffs, they probably do have free speech.
