So usually when I sell multiple items to a buyer I send them an invoice and adjust the postage accordingly - there is no such option there at the moment - there is a link to combine items so I click on that and then try and collate them there and get this message

I can’t seem to combine multiple purchases, so person paid for two items separately- I refunded postage- but don’t receive that postage payment- so now I’m out of pocket. EBay basically robbing us… total payment for two items at £10 each- buyer paid £38.20- with postage x2 and protection etc. I refunded a postage £5.99. I end up with total profit £14.01?!!! *bleep*

But if you do that, you will not be able to get paid for your added item/s because we have to buy a label for every item or we don't get paid for it. If we put things together then there's zero proof that we even sent the extra item/s. This is APPALLING! I used to have people buy several things regularly. One lively lady is getting snippy with me because I can't combine postage BUT she had already paid for 1 item & the 2nd is an Offer so it would have been impossible anyway.

Contact eBay. They HAVE to sort that. I would refund & relist for the buyer. I must say I can't see how that could ever happen, but with all the screw-ups recently, I'm not surprised

I don't think this is a USA issue, it does it for items to other countries as well, I've found it's been happening for the last couple of weeks. It seems like any item listed with Simple Delivery they've removed the ability to send invoices whether it's a UK order or not. Hopefully it's just a bug and they will sort it out soon

And just to add I went on chat with customer services about this this morning and they eventually said:
'Let me proactively share with you that the problem you’ve explained sounds like an emerging technical issue as we received few similar reports and we're in process of compiling the data and escalate it to our technical team so that they can review and resolve it as soon as possible. '

I'm in the UK and requested a combined shipping total for 6 items from the same Lithuanian seller by adding them to my basket, clicking the 'Request combined postage' button, and adding a note asking how much the shipping would be if I ordered all 6 items together. Within 10 seconds I received 6 mails from ebay saying I had committed to buying all 6 items, and the shipping price was the total of the 6 individual item shipping prices. Clearly an automated action by ebay, not the seller. Would ebay like to explain how clicking a button called 'Request combined postage' has apparently committed me to paying well over the odds for shipping?
I have messaged the seller explaining that I never committed to purchasing, only requested a total, asking them to cancel my alleged order, and said that I do still want to buy the 6 items if the shipping can be combined to give a more realistic price.
Reading up about this now, it seems this has been going on for at least 6 months, and is a bug. Surely if requesting combined postage, or the sellers ability to send an invoice showing a corrected shipping price isn't working for some reason, the correct thing to do until it is fixed would be to temporarily remove the 'Request combined postage' button? Not default to 'committing' the buyer to the purchase without reduced shipping costs without their permission, wasting buyers and sellers time every time it gets clicked. Requesting combined postage used to work flawlessly.
I have 2000+ feedback, 100% positive, almost all as a buyer. But I'll take a hit over this if necessary. I WILL NOT be paying the total of the 6 individual shipping costs for these items on principal, under any circumstances.
Ebay used to be so good. The last 2 or 3 years, it just gets worse and worse. It's so disappointing.
