The whole thing is now one big confusing mess...how do you make something which was so simple so complicated?
I've now put all my sales (and purchases) on hold for 3 weeks just to see how this plays out.
By then we'll see how many sellers have had to wait the full 14 days to get "confirmation" that their item has been delivered & whether they've been paid OR whether they're having problems with payouts etc.

"What's happening tomorrow?"
If it's anything like Friday was at the sitcom Ebay Towers whatever does (or more likely doesn't) happen will be a real comedy treat. That's just reading community comments.
I laughed so much I couldn't get to sleep!

Well the one item i am thinking of listing is a more expensive one. Unfortunately Ebay is probably the best place to try and sell it without extortionate Auction House fees. Plus waiting months for their next specialist auction.
Saying that i would hate to lose it if someone said INAD etc to try and rip me off.

Yes...this forum is full of ebay's Milk Monitors telling everyone how brilliant all these changes are and encouraging everyone to upgrade to business accounts....totally disingenuous.....

So if Managed Delivery is not yet been made compulsory on eBay for Private sellers...
I am wondering if I sell something here today, Post it on Monday morning by Royal Mail Special Delivery and upload my tracking number to eBay... and it gets delivered to my buyer on Tuesday...
Will eBay let my have my money by Thursday ? or will they continue mucking about and delaying MY PAYMENT ???
At the moment I am now a little spoiled with PayPal Instant Payments again on another site... but it's heII now having to redo almost 60 listings when everything was all setup nicely here on eBay until they started ruining things...

That's nothing....sold an item on 28 January, item received indicated by positive feedback let and still funds were on hold, took 20 minutes to sort out with these ebay jokers to find there was a 'glitch' in royal mail system....not sure what I would have done had I not received feedback to indicate delivery.
All good stuff here.....ebay....unscrupulous cretins!!!!!

14 days after expected delivery you'd have been paid anyway. It's in the new Help pages.

they are just putting up the price of Simple Delivery that is already working, the one still optional.

'As most bank branches have now been closed that made the Post office the last port of call. This progress of eliminating the need for people/jobs is a little worrying....'
Yes... from a greater/longer time overview, when all our goods are made by robots and services are all done by AI. What will we do for work? (apart from working in care homes, which really doesn't suit everybody....)
And as we have no jobs, we'll have no money.
As we have no money, we'll not be able to buy the goods or use the services provided.
So who will keep those businesses running, with no money coming in?
(hmmmm... capitalism eats istelf 😈! )

so where are you seeing all these comments saying how brilliant the changes are? I have seen very few in favour of any or all of them. There are one or two commentors that seem to be in favour but i believe they are actually business ones who are not directly affected by them.

Not an easy one to give a correct answer to, as some peeps are seeing the Buyer Protection already added to their listings, therefore payment would follow that with tracking showing delivery, payout is released 2 days after that date. No tracking ? Payout held for 14 days.
Others have been able to withdraw payouts the usual way, no holds.
I cannot see any of your listed items so cannot see if those odd pence, e.g. 32p / 78p are showing , this a clue that BP, and all its condition apply to your listings.

Thanks Kath 🙂
Yes, another user also said the same thing...
They are being cagey about when they are going to suddenly spring this compulsory Managed Delivery on us... I'm now doing something else and monitoring eBay and these boards as I don't fancy suddenly getting stitched up by eBay... 😞

Ha Ha, yes the next circular economy. We'll all work in amazon fulfilment centers on poverty level wages but still pay taxes because we'll all have to claim benefits to survive and have just enough to order a few things off amazon to keep the billionaires and shareholders in the style that they've grown accustomed to 🤣
09-02-2025 11:36 AM
That's not going to happen @bittyboy101 .
Without payment processing fees and PL fees ebay would be bankrupt overnight. These days it could never survive on Listing and FVFees like it used to do.
Well, not unless they stopped dishing out all those billions in dividends and share buy-backs. That's where most of the profits go these days.

I'm being a very VERY BAD Ebay employee, spending all day long in the community forum instead of working hard for my paymasters. But only because my sales have dried up and I've stopped adding more.
Ok, technically not an 'employee' yet but that seems to be one of these 'upgrades'... 😉

I admire your honesty !
So that's why the phones never get answered whenever we ring eBay's CS ? 😁 😁 😁
Oh, Please give eBay my feedback that SLOW PAYMENTS AND MANAGED DELIVERY are just lousy 😞

SLOW payments and SLOW delivery do tie in quite nicely with the whole 'SLOW sales' vibe.
I can see Ebay going for a more casual approach to online buying.
"Why worry, there's no hurry?" 😀

Totally agree ! 😁
eBay should change their name to "slowBay" seeming that they like changes so much !
Because with slow sales and slow payments this is now a rather SLOW site !
I am 100% sure that Pierre Omidyar didn't intend for his great market place site to end up like this !
