This box appeared on my Selling page:
I clicked on one of the links, and whilst I didn’t read all of the page that I got sent to, the following two lines jumped out at me:
"When listing an item, you can offer collection in person and/or delivery by a carrier of your choice. You could also choose to use Simple Delivery and let eBay handle everything for you."
"Once the buyer’s order is confirmed, your funds will be available in your balance to shop on eBay, cover your selling needs (such as promote listings or purchase delivery labels), or to withdraw from your eBay balance, typically within 2 business days. Some payment holds may apply. Learn how payouts work." (NB no link provided)
The first statement makes it sound as if Simple Delivery is optional, and that you can choose any carrier you want.
Re the second statement, it’s my understanding that sellers now get paid either after confirmation of tracked delivery, or after 14 days.
@ebay - have you changed your policies again, or are the statements on your web site untrue?

Maybe they’be reevaluated SD and will make it optional 🤷🏼♀️🙏🤭
if not then yes it’s a misleading statement
the second paragraph must be referring to the mention of simple delivery in the first
but yes it might not be read like that
sneaky or just sloppy

But confirmation of the order would be when the buyer pays, and payment to the seller is no longer made after the buyer pays even with Simple Delivery, it's paid once tracked delivery is confirmed, or after 14 days if there is no tracking.

Yes my apologies 😌
Once the buyer’s order is confirmed, your funds will be available in your balance to shop on eBay, cover your selling needs (such as promote listings or purchase delivery labels), or to withdraw from your eBay balance, typically within 2 business days
They forgot to say after delivery confirmation
and of course once the order is confirmed you can spend your money on us but you can’t have it to use elsewhere 🤣 not just yet anyway
because it’s good enough to use on us but not good enough for you to use elsewhere …just yet
oh I don’t know now
may be they’re ditching compulsory sd
only one way to find out, draft a listing
ok I know I’m wrong

The statements aren't actually false. a carrier of your choice — a choice between Royal Mail and Evri.
"Confirmed" in the second paragraph is more ambiguous as it doesn't say "Confirmed delivered" so could be taken as meaning confirmation of the order being placed. It certainly doesn't say funds will be available two days following the order being placed however. It also includes the word "Typically" and points out that holds may apply.
The trouble is they try and use simplified language for those with low literacy or intelligence and end-up making things unclear.

No , it says funds will be available 2 days after order is confirmed
the typically just refers to situations where funds are on hold ie irrelevant in the main
what does order is confirmed mean? That buyer has paid
NOT that Royal Mail have confirmed delivery
imho
its a rubbish piece of writing imho

When I try to click "Reply" to thepillenwerfer, it defaults to "Accept as Solution", and then I have to go to "Unaccept" 🙄
@thepillenwerfer- re the carrier, the two statements are completely separate sentences. It's quite clear that the "carrier of your choice" does not relate to RM/Evri as offered by Simple Delivery.
"you can offer ... delivery by a carrier of your choice. You could also choose to use Simple Delivery..."
