Scammer bought from me before: Yellow Snowdrop Midas. He complained it's not the same one. His digital proof show all the three vital yellow bits MISSING (conveniently). He said the slugs had them. Slugs with penchant for yellow bits of the snowdrop? That was last year. 26/01/25, I saw his name again and my heart sank. He then gave me a good feedback
He now said
You can see: There was nothing wrong with it on Wednesday, he left it unloved, uncared for and probably dropped it. AND TODAY is SATURDAY 1st of Feb. It couldn't have been broken in shipping as he commented that it was a lovely bulb. He must have taken it out to have a look, too busy and left it unattended and now he has ruined my one year's hard work, he's crying foul, AGAIN! Where is the protection for sellers? If the stem had been broken, why did he give me a good feedback?
These people abuse the ebay system favouring the buyers and do not take any case on individual merit. Look at how this person has consistently misbehaved.
I remember that once I was abused so badly that I took about 3 years out of ebay. Why take such abuse and nobody to help you?

Sounds a really picky buyer. Put him on your blocked bidders list, which you should have done the first time. At least he wont be able to do it again.

Slugs and snails don’t appear where I live, until march as I love watching them through the day and night.

As advised, just block this buyer here:
"Make sure you have slug pellets when you plant the alstroemeria out please."
Please stop recommending that your buyers use slug pellets - it toxifies the environment - birds or slow worms eat the slugs and then die. I've got nearly 3 acres of garden and manage without them.

Well said, @*vyolla* I would rather sacrifice a few plants rather than kill anything, no matter how small.

There are different kinds of slug pellets eg wool pellets. You don't have to take it literally. They are called slug deterrents, but they are still in pellet forms.

There are all sorts of slug pellets. Wool pellets is one of those. Please note.

I have done so. I just want people to look at his name and be very careful as if he were a human, he should return the bulb to me. A resting bulb costs £40. There are buyers on ebay who are real scammers. One refused to take digital photos for proof, saying it was her birthday. Then when I asked again, she unwittingly told me she HAD PLANTED them. Then she spammed my message inbox with 16 of the same messages in as many minutes and my phone heated up. She left me with a negative feedback which stuck for one whole year.
This bulb with flowers should have been sold for £40. He got it for £35 WITH A FLOWER which took a year to develop and now he wouldn't return it unless I paid for postage. Last time with the Midas, I already lost postage fee for this heartless scammer. Ebay lady kindly solved the problem for me. I need this outlet to let off my scream of injustice.

What we got there is bad attitude, greediness, callousness to people's hard work. It took me £40 to buy the bulb, a year to to nurture it. You think it's a failure to communicate. He has bought from me before last year. He must know the hard work involved. To remove all the yellow bits of a Midas was heartless. You gave me a comment like that? It's not his first rodeo and he will try it again.

The bit at the bottom of responders' posts is a signature, not a comment. Read it again and you'll see this is what it is.
To avoid confusion I have drawn a line above my sig so no one should get confused, but not all responders do this.

As advised, do block this buyer at your earliest convenience.
Because your buyer has admitted to using the bulb and it is not now in the condition in which it was sent, you are entitled to deduct from the full amount of the refund. Scroll down to the first box on the following page and read the advice "What happens if the buyer used the item"...
It's clear that he took the bulb and left it out for several days and then damaged it through either neglect or clumsiness, but getting ebay CS to recognise that may prove to be an uphill, and possibly unwinnable, battle.
Sorry, but cutting your losses as best you may is the only advice I have in this situation.

Do most people know that?
With respect, unless you make a point of advising against the use of the most commonly available and very cheap pellets containing metaldehyde then most people will be buying the horribly toxic blue ones.
Might be worth mentioning that these will kill birds, slow worms, toads, frogs, hedgehogs and anything else that might come across them. My neighbours cat ended up at the vets after either eating some or eating something that had.
You're in an excellent position to mention that organic deterrents are available and better in your listing descriptions in you are going to advocate the use of them.
I can appreciate that gardeners get vexed over critters that eat their plants, but there's a better way than toxifying the food chain.

You digress!
Indeed I did, but this is a discussion board and you've been advised how to proceed with this particular buyer, there's nothing more that can be added to that, really. Any additional advice is just a bonus.

Solved? That is good news!
Make sure of also reporting this buyer in order that eBay may build up a case history of abuse
