So I had £258 in my available eBay balance. I needed to refund somebody around £100 and eBay took it straight from my available balance. How will they add the original purchase funds into my balance as I’ll not be sending the item anymore? Will I have to wait 14 days for that £100 to go back into my available funds?

Not sure. We've seen loads of similar examples so far but I don't remember any of them coming back and saying when they were paid.

Agree, you would hope that the very act of refunding (assuming done via a cancellation) would take the fund release down a different avenue than the default 14 days, but without personal experience (and anything in a published policy), who knows.
Maybe Marco does?

Hi lucy2706lucy, thanks for your post.
When a refund is issued, it would be taken from your available funds or payment method, not held funds, so that would've been correct.
Regarding the releasing of your funds, once a refund goes through, the funds of the transaction in question will be released to compensate funds deducted from your payment method/eBay balance for the refund.
If they are still being held, please let me know, and I'd be happy to look into it for you. 👍
Thanks for the tag @papso22
Hope this helps,

This system is and has always been nonsense with all due respect. Does my head in how if i have a huge refund, i need to have the funds in my card or it won't go through even tho the amount is in my account just with a hold on.
