In defense of Evri

There are many on these boards who condemn Evri for poor performance. I am not going to say that they are perfect but they do seem to have got their act together these days.

I use Evri for all my small parcels (standard tracked service) bought thro' my direct account, not thro' eBay post/Packlink.

I have 2 very close (walking distance) Parcelshops with long opening hours.

Delivery to my buyers is 99% of the time within 3 days, today the have excelled:

Small parcel <1kg = £3.16

08:26 - Tue Oct 22

We're expecting your parcel to arrive with us soon and we'll update your tracking once we've received it

08:42 - Tue Oct 22

We've received your parcel at the ParcelShop and will be collecting it shortly (Finedon, Northants)

13:17 - Tue Oct 22

We've collected your parcel

19:07 - Tue Oct 22

Your parcel is being sorted at the senders local depot

01:48 - Wed Oct 23

We're processing your parcel at our hub

10:11 - Wed Oct 23

Your parcel is at the delivery depot and we'll let you know when it's out for delivery

11:12 - Wed Oct 23

Your parcel is on its way to you today

12:06 - Wed Oct 23

Your courier estimates they'll deliver between 12:30 and 13:30 today. As this is an estimate, we'll let you know about any changes during the day

12:57 - Wed Oct 23

We've delivered this parcel to the recipients shed (Exeter, Devon)

Can RM et al match that??

In the past I had a couple of problem deliveries but claiming compensation was straight forward, simply submitted a copy of the eBay order, and I got full sale & postage cost reimbursed within days.

I just thought I would share this with you☺

Wait until something goes wrong. I assume you don't sell things that might feel to certain staff members as if they might be valuable, like a power tool battery.

And yes, Tracked 48 can easily match that, round here anyway.

Re: In defense of Evri

I get regular deliveries from Evri and none have ever gone missing or had anything odd happen to them

So yes, Evri varies by location

They are the UKs biggest courier so of course there will be lots of complaints

Its rare that people say actually Evri works fine for me

Re: In defense of Evri

Do not send with Evri. But do get some deliveries.

All have been on time / no problems with the usual chatty delivery lady.

But with all couriers, as already mentioned the final mile service will depend on area.

Re: In defense of Evri

depends on where you live and your courier!  One of the reasons you may not have had any problems is that those of us who do tend not to order from anyone using them. I would not be able to comment on their delivery times as the local courier never delivers and lied about it.     Now RM (and in all fairness every other courier) seems to manage to be able to deliver to us so something is not 'improving'

Re: In defense of Evri

and that is the important bit, i would not mind waiting an extra day or two if i knew it was going to be delivered.   So far i have never had anything not delivered both as a buyer or seller via RM.

I 100% agree, that with Evri and indeed this holds for any postal service,   it depends on  where you live and your courier.

We have had the same RM postie for many moons he's great , and our Evri  delivery lady is fab, always on time, always friendly and leaves me plenty of messages re my item's tracking and delivery times, which are always on time.

So for me Evri as a delivery service is A1 .  Would I use them as a postal service?  No,  and that's mainly because of the many posts on here from disgruntled members,  proving  it's the  location, location,  location and the courier delivery person(s) there ..... that matters greatly here.

Your comment:  so something is not 'improving'

If you tend to never order from any seller who uses Evri you will never find out if the service has improved. They may well have changed your local driver by now if you have complained enough.

Local drivers fine, the criminality and Mike Ashley grade customer service is at the hubs / HQs

Re: In defense of Evri

I agree evri have their faults but I do not have an issue with them, tracking update very good always seem to deliver within 3 days.In the last 6 months 2 parcels had no movement on tracking for 48hrs contacted evri through bot got an email straight away both parcels found in depot and delivered within 48hrs and was kept up todate via email throughout with the same person.

I know people do have problems maybe I have been lucky I had more problems sending with royal mail tracking and delivery not good.

Re: In defense of Evri

so far this year the family  has experienced 5 deliveries that were supposed to be being sent via RM and yet were sent by EVRI.   So yes i do know that things have not improved as far as our courier is concerned!  The real fault lies with those sellers who say they are posting RM and then send EVRI.

Re: In defense of Evri

Yeah their all good until something goes wrong then you are *bleep*ed. They have 0 customer support and I mean 0. Having been through the robot dialing service through loops and loops contacted the CEO and management team personally after losing a package just to get fobbed off.

I have a personal vendetta against Evri management.

Re: In defense of Evri

Ive got some tapes coming on vinted and touch wood they collected and its in the warehouse. The problem for me was the actual way items were handled rather than loss or lack of delivery but fingers crossed.

Inpost are another, ive used them loads in the last few months and they have been 10x10 on every occasion with the best app by far yet they have some bad rep also.

Certainly important to be willing to let them prove themselves improved like we'd expect the same.
