AI Feedback

Another bad idea thought up by ebay’s lower or middle management to justify their existence

“Order successfully completed, tracked and on time”

It makes your profile and feedback profile look fake and manufactured 🔴

Boy have I flipped back and forth on this issue since you posted!

Sometimes selling feels like throwing items into a void, with not even an echo coming back, so in the beginning I appreciated the sale being acknowledged and felt it was more complete. But learning the Automated Feedback can be replaced / downgraded took that feeling away again.

Yes you're right, this Automated Feedback phrase is awkward. That said I just couldn't think of something better that covers a wide range of items in a legalese way.

It's too bad Buyers leaving authentic-sounding Feedback is becoming rarer, even when you bend over backwards for them! Or maybe it's good that good service is becoming more the norm. Perhaps the solution is for eBay giving buyers an incentive to leave personal Feedback (e.g. discount on BPF).

I thought it was a good idea in principle before it came out, too many people get what they ordered, quickly and leave no feedback whatsoever, which is fine, it's their prerogative. I liked the idea of getting a bit of feedback to show potential customers that you offer a good service.

However, now, because so many are automated, it's hard to see the genuine, human-sounding positives of your service that will stand out better to a customer than the generic one eBay have put in place. Sadly, I have done a full U-turn and feel it would be better to not have an automated one or to have a few different ones that randomly generate and sound a bit more human.

I quite like it. People don’t bother leaving feedback anymore I’ve been a seller since 2013 and should have more feedback.

“What we’ve got here is failure to communicate.”

Personally I think it's fairer and more accurate. If buyers don't leave feedback it's fair to assume everything was OK, also, if you get a neg the auto feedback keeps the %age higher. I'm curious to know if the buyer can override the auto feedback later, or is it set in stone?

It's just another thing eBay have copied from vinted.

within the feedback timeframe the buyer can leave feedback which replaces the auto feedback.

One thing is that a buyer may be forced to leave bad feedback to get rid of the auto positive - after they had decided not to leave feedback although the transaction did not go well.
