Override Simple Delivery

Hi,

Up until 2 days ago I was still able to list with customer or advanced options for postage to override the (not so) "simple delivery". Yesterday, and today, when adding some new listings, I have not got the option for any of them. It is strictly choose a postage size or nothing. Is anyone else experiencing this now? Is there anything I can do about it?

Yep,  that's the story in full!  That is,  Simple Delivery is to be mandatory for All Private Sellers.

This first appeared as mandatory on April 15th,  but some lucky sellers,  yourself included it seems,  were able to Still select Custom Postage.  It was / is a very slow rollout .

There's no evading SD,  those lucky ones left behind,   are waking up to see their items automatically changed to SD postage.  Some with errors,  so check all yours to see if you need to revise or relist

Simple delivery is here for Private sellers,  there' s  no escaping it !

Yup.

You can end all listings. If we all did this until they start listening to us it would bring them to heel.

In any case there is likely to be a regime change again soon as they have managed not only to cut listing numbers by annoying sellers with SD but t the same time to kill purchase numbers by thoroughly annoying buyers with "Buyer Protection " (HaHa) Fee.

But various items are exempt from it (there’s a very long list) and eBay isn’t allowing custom delivery on listing those items

Disagree, I'm afraid!  There is escaping it by doing what I have just done - eBay member for 20+ years and I have just ended all my listings where SD was being imposed.  When the collection only or those items with bids on end, then so does my association with eBay.  They have just got too greedy and dictatorial for me!

I have various items for sale:

Costume Jewellery - It states "SD is not available for this item". Not for any item, any price, any weight.

Scarves - Optional, both above and below 100g and large letter size.

Postcards - Optional both above and below 100g and large letter size.

Tools - Less than £10, less than 100g were £1.55 now £2.90ish and there is a banner saying that the item has been changed over. That is if i do "sell similar" on the items, the original items still seem to have original postage on them and have not been transferred over.

I only object to the price increase of large letters really. Anything that is a small parcel is not a huge price rise and I'm not paying it. If it sells, it sells...

Sounds like they’re “working their way through” things

ebay announced all categories/items that are exempt from SD if they weighed a certain amount and cost a certain amount and were sued a certain amount 

but for so many you still can’t find custom when listing

All of my listings prior to this stupidity seem to be fine. However, if they do change and simple delivery is forced upon listings I've already made, I will be ditching ebay.
