I dumped eBay as a selling platform last November and (reading comments here) it was a smart move

Although my current account is fairly recent (2011) I've been using eBay since 1999 including successfully running three businesses here but last year, after reading more and more negative comments and talking to several very unhappy local eBay sellers I cleared out a load of stuff by other ways (some went to local charity shops and some into local salerooms) and have never looked back. Last month I had another sort out and consigned a load more stuff to our local auction. No hassle, no silly prohibitions and prompt, no quibble payment after the sale. It's not a cheap option (they took roughly 25% on the hammer price in commission and charges) but  it was worth every penny. I won't be back!

It's the worst I've known it to be in 21 years. I've tried everything I know to get sales moving, except promoting,

and nothing has worked so I've stopped trying and am just maintaining at the moment while I decide what to do.  I have been looking at other sites - funnily enough I seem to have plenty of time to do it.
