I am afraid of new eBay buyer

I am a new seller and I have listed an item for bid , the bid was going to end in 1 day but the buyer chose to ‘pay now’ instead of bidding which costed him more in the end, I have message him to let him know that I will be sending his parcel soon , yet he has not replied to me or didn’t even message me to begin with, they just bought the item no words said, I checked his account and it says that he joined today, I am a new seller and i don’t want to lose any money or have a bad reputation. Does any one have any advice for me?

What is the monetary value of the item?  And is it desirable - eg electronic gadgetry, watch, jewellery etc?

I don't think his lack of communication is necessarily significant, but I would be cautious about a brand new buyer too, particularly if the item is costly and desirable.

No one has to message before or after buying, though I agree it is common courtesy to do so.

Your concern is they are a new buyer. Equally, they could say the same about you, you are a new seller.

only you can decide really if you want to risk sending the item at the end of the day.

That was listed at a good price, which is likely why somebody just used the Buy It Now.

Bottom line is, it's impossible to tell who is setting out to part you from your item and money and who is genuine, the one time I got scammed it was by a buyer/seller with over 600 feedback.

All you can do is to make sure it's sent out correctly to the address in the order details.

But you only joined less than a week ago and have no selling history - so both of you are in the same boat.

Was it the LV Messenger bag?  The bidder may not have wished to wait for an auction to end and perhaps be outbid so happy to buy at the Buy it Price listed that's what BIN prices are for.

Do not be too alarmed at them being a new seller and buying your item, eBay spend a pretty penny on advertising to entice new members , buyers and sellers alike,  to their platform.

Send it tracked and ensured , once tracking shows delivery you may have a little delay receiving that first payout,  this is normal for any new seller.

We all made a first purchase/sale. The place wouldn't last long if we ignored first timers. I did have this fear with new members buying, but touch wood, no issues so far.

Message then again and say that you are going to send it by Special Delivery and can they confirm that they will be available to sign for it.

If they don't respond, I would personally cancel the sale as I can see this ending in tears as they will know that you are a new seller.

Up to you but if you cannot afford to lose the money and the bag, find another way of selling it.
