After years of no problems i am being charged £3.18 frequently for items well under 1kg with claims they are at least 1240g which is wrong as i have started double checking on checked scales.
Will no longer use Evri as it means i'm selling at a loss.
The trackng number doesn't even work when using the links to question.

I changed to yodel and no charges yet but i agree it's prob packlink.I can use parcel2go and enter tracking ref manually but agro.
If you use Parcel2Go you can get Evri and Yodel from there. For under 1kg, both are within a few pence of each other; for 1-2kg Yodel is cheaper (not sure about 2kg+).
I use mainly Evri but sometimes Yodel, both via Parcel2Go, and have not had any problems.
Once you've paid for and downloaded your label you can copy the tracking number on the label, and paste it into eBay under "add tracking number". Only takes a couple of extra steps.
Or if you have a phone and use the eBay app, you can scan the label using the camera on the phone once it has been printed. Again there is an option to do this under one of the options, probably "add tracking" or similar.
Both of the above will avoid the need to use Packlink. You should only use the built in eBay postage systems for Royal Mail postage.

I make sure I always select the SHOEBOX and 1kg options for everything i send now. Havent had any underpaid charges since. The issue comes if you mark the wrong weight even if it says "up to 1kg" and u have a 100g item. If you say 50g u will get charged. Its cuz they obv dont pay the same amount to the carrier and its the carrier that charges packlink.

As do i.I was sending 12" records as shoebox weight upto 750g then told it was 1250g ! And charged £3.18 fine.
I can't see how a 12 inch vinyl record can be 1.25kg...
Are you using one of the Packlink options? If yes, then please don't - go to either one of the Royal Mail options (such as Royal Mail Tracked 48), or, if your item is beyond that of a small parcel (referred to as shoebox size - 45x35x16cm) then go directly to the courier in question (evri.com, yodel.co.uk, etc) OR to a reputale 3rd party (e.g. Parcel2Go) and get the postage from there.
Adding the tracking number to My eBay only takes a couple of steps.
But whatever you do DO NOT USE PACKLINK - this means ONLY use the Royal Mail options (or maybe Parcelforce?) if posting via eBay's integrated service, or go to the courier via another means.

Thanks for input.I havn't had an issue with Yodel but if i do i have a p2go account. It's the principle not the cost.
If you've got a parcel2go account then use it for evri & yodel (and all other couriers), it is ONLY safe to use integrated eBay postage for Royal Mail postage...

I'm a regular user of EVRI. I received additional charges for two packages this week all well under 600g but Evri via packlink notified me they were 1.7KG & 1.8Kg. Clearly it is something wrong at their end. Now, I have to spend time appealing and sending evidence to Evri via packlink. However, Evri will not submit any evidence showing the packages weigh more than what we declared. Innocent until proven guilty does not apply here it seems.

Given that the Packlink service is baked into eBay I'd be taking this up with eBay if Packlink can't do anything, demanding refunds of the excess charges.
You're not the first and I doubt you'll be the last, so... (parts highlighted in red for importance)
Make sure that in future you use eBay postage ONLY FOR ROYAL MAIL AND PARCELFORCE. Those are the only two safe options. All of the other options, including Evri, Yodel, UPS etc, are powered by Packlink, and eBay have allowed Packlink full access to your funding (they will take money from your pending funds or your linked bank account). Unlike when Packlink was separate to eBay, you can't raise a dispute to get your false surcharge back.
So the only thing you can do...:
1. Use eBay postage for ONLY Royal Mail and Parcelforce
2. If you don't want to use Royal Mail/Parcelforce DO NOT USE EBAY SHIPPING SERVICES - go to a reputable 3rd party (e.g. parcl2go) or straight to the courier.

Sorry for the slow reply.I vowed never to use Yodel after refusing a £3 claim on a broken dish but since the Evri charges i went back to Yodel and no Packlink charges so Evri prob weighing 2 parcels at once in error and tell packlink it wasn't them but me.Goodbye Evri.

Yodel have been known to be hit or miss. My nearest Yodel courier tends to deliver parcels to the wrong place sometimes, there was one recently where they delivered to a neighboring business to where it was needed. There have also been a few that looked beaten up to say the least.
My recommendation would be to use a 3rd party (such as parcel2go.com) or go direct to Evri. That way you won't get charged by eBay/Packlink.
You then just copy the tracking number and paste it into eBay.
Avoid Packlink completely as you may still get overcharged even with Yodel.

IT IS TIME TO TAKE ACTION
Don’t just be a victim
Looking at various forums, it is obvious that thousands and thousands of people complain of being defrauded this way. A few pounds here and there, it is not big deal for an individual, but when you add it all up we are talking millions. I just spoke to an Ebay representative and EBay is not willing to do anything about this.
In fact Ebay will now take money directly from your bank account, even when you have disabled Packlink in PayPal as an authorised payee.
Take action !
Please report this to Trading Standards, plus, file an online report with the Police via Action Fraud.

I never post blind and you have jumped to a rather offensive conclusion.

Didn't know that, I used to revoke the Packlink CPA (continuous payment authority) every 24 hours on Paypal so that they couldn't use it! Worked a treat at the time, but only use RM now anyway, as the collect from my porch for free(ish) is amazeballs. I think the worst I ever had was a demand for £70 (yes 70 pounds) for an alleged UPS 'surcharge', which thankfully they couldn't take and didn't persue outside of the paypal agreement that didn't work for them after I cancelled it. If you ignored the emails, they never asked again (they must have assumed that if it wasn't 'challenged' (waste of time) they would get the money from the CPA, well, not from me anyway.
Packlink BLATENTLY moved to Spain for a reason, and we all know that is to frustrate any legal approach from the UK where all their business is.

Don't use Evri, but more importantly, never ever use Packlink. What they do is a scam.

My post about Packlink has mysteriously been "archived", but my advice is the same. NEVER use Packlink as they WILL take money straight out of your funds (or bank) if they think your parcel is oversize or overweight.

I just googled to see if anyone else has had the problem I'm having today and found this. I recently posted two items via Evri using labels bought off ebay. Evri claim that the postage was underpaid and charged me £3.18 extra per parcel, which ebay are trying to deduct from my payments. Both parcels were within Evri's weight and dimension restrictions shown on ebay. ebay have refused to do anything about it and told me to contact Evri. I haven't even tried as I know how impossible they are to contact, and I'm sure they will just claim they are right. IMO Evri are pulling a fast one to profit from customers who have no way to fight back, and ebay are allowing them to so this. I'm closing my ebay account (after 11 years) and will not use Evri again.

I just had that argument with ebay. That they are selling the labels so they have the contract with the customer and must take responsibility when things go wrong.
They have deducted £3.18 x 2 from my balance for underpaid postage on Packlink's behalf. But it wasn't underpaid.
ebay told me to contact Evri, but I now understand they should have told me to contact Packlink. I'm doing neither as I know how fruitless that would be. Blocking ebay from accessing my bank account and closing my account.
