So I use mostly Royal Mail large letter or small parcel. For anything bigger I use Evri.
I tried to relist an item this morning using Evri but when I clicked on the option for Evri it stated 'every other Simple Delivery listing will be changed to Evri'! What??
I have just changed all my listings with Simple Delivery to 3 days dispatch (eBay decided it should be 2!), and using the correct size (eBay changed all my Large Letter listings to Small Parcel)!!!
So my item is just bigger than Small Parcel but still under 2 kg. It's just bulkyier for small parcel but not heavy. But there doesn't seem to be an option to choose. Does this mean you can only use one postal option for every item?
I thought it was supposed to be 'Simples'???

I too cannot understand the reasoning behind this - why can't we make individual decisions on particular listings?? It makes no sense! Have any other countries had SD inflicted on them??

As to your question - yes all listings would change if you added Evri to just one. There's no way round it unfortunately, hence I've reluctantly added both to my listings.

So the only option I can think of is to have 2 different accounts - one that only uses Royal Mail and the other only uses Evri! I can't think of any way out of this as I am certainly not paying RM medium parcel when I can send items for half that amount with Evri.
Those Men in Black at eBay towers certainly didn't use their grey matter when deciding on Not-So-Simple Delivery.
Taking away a seller's option (who let's face it - know more about posting their own item than eBay does) was not a smart move!

If when you list it ebay recommends 2kg small parcel it’s fine to send as such even if it’s slightly bigger

Not at my Post Office it won't! They check each parcel that looks a bit iffy fits into the white small parcel size Royal Mail box they keep at the counter for 'chancers' like me! They will just state it is too large to send as a small parcel and won't accept it.
And taking it home to repack or buy another label will give me a Black Mark on my dispatch window.
And not sure one can even purchase another label with this Not-So-Simple-Delivery malarky!

Does anyone know if the same thing happens with RM? If you change one item to RM, will all SD listings automatically change to RM?
eBay are so biased towards Evri, I'd be surprised if they would switch all listings to RM, if other items happen to be listed with Evri...
It's all going awfully well, isn't it?! 😄

If you print the label at home, it shouldn't have any size/weight/price details on.
If you print the label in the PO, it may do; however PO employees have been told to accept RM Simple Delivery parcels regardless (up to 20 kg and 61 cm x 46cm x 46cm).

Yes. Whatever you select, RM only, Evri only or both selected, it will apply to all your listings.

Then either print the label yourself and use a Parcel Box, or find a PO that knows what they are supposed to do.

Opening a second Ebay account would be a solution. One account for Evri stuff, one account for Royal Mail stuff.
But what a faff.

Not had any sales since I was forced onto Simple Delivery. I offer free postage so I will be paying for the label. Is there still the option to pay for it with Paypal like I used to do?
Thanks for the link - seems the PO / RM have done away with the small parcel size if the size now accepted is up to 61 cm x 46cm x 46cm. Come to think of it the PO hasn't been checking sizes recently when they have been borderline small parcel. I just thought it was cos they could just judge it from experience - what a numpty!
Every day is a school day!

But what happens if you sell something and a buyer chooses Evri when RM is more convenient - or vice versa?
To be honest this Not-So-Simple-Delivery is giving me the heebeejeebees!

Unfortunately, no way to pay with PayPal, as far as I know. I think eBay just take the postage money from your eBay balance, or failing that, I assume it will be taken from your bank account.

"PO / RM have done away with the small parcel size if the size now accepted is up to 61 cm x 46cm x 46cm."
That's not what it means. When you list with Simple Delivery, ebay may suggest a size and weight for the package; if they do - you check that you think it's correct. If they don't suggest a size, you enter the size and weight.
What it does mean is:
-If it turns out when packed to be a bit larger/heavier than expected, as long as it's less than the maximums, RM says that's not a problem.
-If a buyer pays for multiple items/variations/quantifies etc. at once; ebay may give you one label for everything. Some people report interesting results - anyway as long as it's less than the maximums, it's fine to use that label.

Sorry if I missed some important detail - in the original post, you say you were using both RM and Evri. You can turn on both for SD. What issue would having both create? You/your buyer gets cheaper postage in some/most bands if you have both turned on.
The buyer can't literally choose between Evri and RM delivery. They can only choose standard and express. Ebay will then choose the carrier based on the item/speed/location/possibly other things.

I agree it is a rip off and greed on the part of ebay! If they persist in this policy I for one will be cancelling my ebay account and will be selling elsewhere! I advise other ebayers to do the same!
