DROP IN SALES SINCE NEW BUYER PROTECTION 4TH FEB 2025

Has anyone else noticed lack of sales since the buyer protection update 4th february 2025. I used to sell quite a lot and virtually sold nothing since 4th Feb. Can anyone else relate to this and what can we do?

The big steady DROP 

Not just since the change but the general demise of the big greedy beast over last 24 -36 months

We are selling it all off for tuppence before it's too late.

We tried out many of the ideas on these pages but nothing changed.

1100 listing down to 800 and dropping daily, emotionally difficult but can't see any regrets ahead.

It wasn't an email, and it wasn't to you.  You are being notified by ebay whenever someone posts anything on this thread.   You can turn that off.

You are right - it is emotionally difficult to see a site that was the first and, in the earlier days, the best in it's field fall so dramatically from grace . It used to be such a good place for both small businesses and private sellers.

We don't want to see ebay fail in the UK but unfortunately, due to such poor management at the top we fear that is the way it is heading and we have to jump ship as a result.

Ebay don't care as they think that there will always be new sellers coming in to replace us but if the more experienced  sellers can no longer make a living on here, then 'newbies' coming in certainly won't stand a chance . It's all rather sad.

Very much so. I am ending all my sales on *bleep*bay this Sunday after 23 years and won't be coming back.

It’s very sad tbh. Pure greed. 100% of my sales go to charity. My items start from 99p and are purchased mainly by supporters and those I would imagine on low incomes.
EBay’s new charges double the price and their so called simple postage does too. Their delivery make it so complicated to add the correct charge ie an item which should cost no more than £1.55 eBay are automatically charging £2.94 with Evri. Personally I don’t like Evri. It takes me a long time to negotiate around eBay’s simple delivery to add the correct postage and again personally, I feel it has been made so deliberately. Good luck to you.

The poster obviously thought that members who posted on the thread were emailing them personally in response to what they had posted.

I advised them that this was not the case and told them they could stop getting the emails from ebay.

Seems to me that genuine grievances like ebay imposing a Buyer Protection
fee and demanding we give them our National Insurance Number are getting
obscured on this thread by petty remarks and backbiting. I am reminded of
an old saying 'Divide and Conquer'

Yeah they want to be Temu 2. Hence why they also have no issues with all of the business accounts selling fake designer clothes and other knock off goods. People here even mass report all the fake stuff and get nowhere. Its quite obvious that eBay are purposefully turning a blind eye to it all.

Now don't tell me that ebay is not being run by A l bots or that something very odd is going on....I came on here 2 days ago to have a moan about 2 sales in 6 weeks...now have 3 sales in 24 hours.

Hi there,

My sales are down by 68% and I have seen Sellers reporting that their sales are down by 75%. This is a major worry to many but eBay are just not listening. I have previously written at length on the Community Forum and Emailed eBay's CEO and lodged complaints and serious concerns about Buyer Protection Fee, Easy Delivery and delays in payments to Sellers but the reply I received indicated eBay are not listening and are persevering with these new policies.
