I don't want to get to reactionary about what seems like a terrible idea, if it costs the same as a 2nd class stamp and be delivered via postboxes then it's not the end of the world.
I have invested in a lot of stamps though, so i am rather annoyed at the short notice of this.
Saying that, if it costs more and I can't use a post box be then I'll pull my listings and focus on other sites.

I use stamps too.
Trouble is everything will from 15th have to be sent by tracking. Plus the annoying factor that the buyer 'buys' the postage and sends it to you. That's my understanding anyway.

The buyer pays postage to Ebay who then send you a label to print out or QR code to be scanned by the Post Office or Evri.

Thank you for the clarification. I was along the right lines though not quite right!

No, Ebay change the buyer more than is needed and pocket the rest........

Use stamps myself and find it handy to just pop on a stamp and post via post box
Forced to use a tracked service will bump up costs that selling will become un viable
Few things are excluded tho from simple delivery
Are items under £20 ?
It states low priced items are excluded
What exactly is low priced items 🤔
Items under £20 or £15 or what ?

I just did a test listing, the cheepest option is £2.40. This will decimate the site. any small value small items will no longer be able to be sold, or brought from eBay.

I don't believe ebay mean that there is a low price limit below which S.D. won't apply.
The only place where an exclusion for low-priced items is mentioned, is where 'low-price' is coupled with 'bulky'.
In other words, only items which are low -priced *and* bulky can be excluded.
At least that's my reading of it.
It would be good of ebay to put out an announcement clearing this one up. Somebody on another thread phoned CS for an answer to this, but we can all disregard CS's overly imaginative answers to a lot of questions 🙄

Surley 'low value' can't start at £0, (espcially as the minimun listing is 99p). I'm stunned they havn't been more clear with this.

So no post boxes? expect your local Tescos etc... to now become a nightmare to use in large towns and cities.

The agent at CS told me this :

That really helps...thank you eBay...NOT!
Most items I post go in a standard sized envelope up to 100g. So their minimum 750g large letter really helps...NOT!
This is eBay saying to many sellers...thank you for all your previous business, but now you can go elsewhere we don't want your business anymore!!!!

I've received a transcript of the conversation with CS, which I keep preciously just in case my items are not exempt...
I will have a look at UK law about this too...

This ebay person has said something about low value/weight items:
