Payments

Just seen one of the mentors over on the other board say we only get paid out 24 hours after the buyer has paid (subject to the qualifying criteria) if the item was sent tracked and there is proof of delivery.

How can this be?

Items will not be delivered in 24 hours and the items I've sent untracked are being paid out in 24 hours after the buyer has paid regardless if they've been delivered or not, which none of mine have 🤔🤔🤔🤔.

Clearly they are misreading or misunderstanding the eBay help page on getting paid for items.  Receiving faster payment is not dependant on the item being sent tracked and obviously proof of delivery cannot possibly come into it.

Maybe post the link that @sml192  has provided on the thread they said this on.

It states on the link provided

As a private seller, your funds will be available in your eBay balance after successful delivery, or shortly after the buyer pays if you’ve met the required criteria, if the order is not subject to a hold.

We'll use these criteria to determine when an item has been successfully delivered:

Items sent by post

  • Untracked, or tracked with missing delivery confirmation: Funds will be available 14 calendar days from the order date
    • For untracked orders with a subtotal (excluding postage, fees, taxes) of £10 or less, funds will be available instantly if positive feedback is received from the buyer

That can't be the post as the mentor doesn't say what the opening poster says they did.

To be honest, we can't really advise any more about payments as there are so many variables.

So, two different eBay pages have rather conflicting bits of info in them:

Private sellers with a strong sales history will receive their funds in their eBay balance typically within 24 hours of the buyer's payment, unless subject to a hold. To qualify for this payment experience, you’ll need the following:

  • At least 10 completed sales with a combined total of £150 or more within the last 5 years
    • We’ll only count sales that didn’t have a refund, return, chargeback, cancellation, or case
    • We’ll look at all sales 5 years from the current date. For example, if it’s 6 August 2025, we’ll look at sales since 6 August 2020

  • Untracked, or tracked with missing delivery confirmation: Funds will be available 14 calendar days from the order date
    • For untracked orders with a subtotal (excluding postage, fees, taxes) of £10 or less, funds will be available instantly if positive feedback is received from the buyer

The layout and wording of that help page could definitely be clearer but if read properly, rather than just looking at different bits in isolation, then it doesn't actually contradict itself.

The bits you have highlighted are 2 different sets of criteria, one is outlining the criteria a seller needs to meet to qualify for faster payment and the other is part of the section outlining the criteria that will be used to determine when an item has been successfully delivered if the seller doesn't meet the criteria for faster payment.

I get ALL my funds available within 24hrs. I didnt mind waiting but I did mind the BPF as I sell a lot of low value items and it put a stop to that before ebay changed it. SD is ok-ish all the time I can have RM but I do think buyers are being overcharged and I also think that the line where it can be cheaper is a fib.
