Bidder withdrawing a bid on item still active

Someone has bid on 2 of my items, but just withdrawn one bid.

I no longer wish to do business with them, as they have 199 bid retractions in last 12 months.

However, they are the only bidder on the other item.

Advice please.... is it better for me to cancel their other bid OR should I close the listing and relist after blocking them?

I would do what you want to do - cancel their bid on the second item and then block them.

If I remember correctly, when you cancel a bid, you can choose 'other' as the reason, so just put 'bidder has retracted a bid on a different item' or similar.

It is a shame that Ebay don't deal with timewasters like this - nobody checks bid retractions when a bidder places a bid.  You should be able to assume bidders are genuine - clearly this one is not.

Thanks for the advice; found it easy to cancel bid with reason

Bidder now blocked, and agree ebay could weed out those with lots of bid retractions.
