Last month, we shared that Simple Delivery will be the only delivery option available for private sellers when listing eligible items. We’ve been listening to your feedback whilst rolling out this change, and are introducing a new parcel size option and new postage rates for Simple Delivery, which will come into effect on 20 May, 2025. We’re also working on bringing you even more of the features you’ve requested, and we’re adding a lower-cost option this month where buyers can collect their orders from Evri parcel shops.
After listening to your feedback about the services that matter most to you, we’re introducing ‘0-2kg small’ parcel size options to provide you with a lower price point. We recommend reviewing and amending your live listings that use small or medium parcels from 20 May, to make sure you’re offering your buyers the best prices. For example, if you have a 1-2kg medium parcel, you can change this to a 0-2kg small parcel if the dimensions fit. You’ll be able to amend this from your Active Listings or View Item page. To get the most competitive prices, consider enabling all couriers by going to postage preferences in your account settings.
Until the new rate comes in, there’s a promotional rate for small and medium parcels (between 0-2kg) to match the Royal Mail pricing you’re used to. This only applies to items that are eligible for Simple Delivery, and will end at 11:59pm on 19 May. After this, the new postage rates will apply.
To continue improving the Simple Delivery experience, we’re rolling out a collect from store option this month with Evri. This will be a cheaper, more convenient option for your buyers, where they can collect their items from the Evri parcel shop or locker of their choice, and save 15% or more on delivery costs.* If you’d like to offer this option to your buyers and have currently excluded Evri from your couriers, be sure to add them back in by going to your postage preferences .
We know that it’s important in some cases for you to be able to choose your preferred courier. As a reminder, you can easily set your postage preferences from your account settings. Currently, Simple Delivery offers services from both Royal Mail and Evri. We recommend enabling all couriers for the most competitive postage rates.

No matter how many tweaks & 'improvements' eBay make to Simple Delivery, we know - and they know - the original Custom Postage was, and always will be, a far superior postage system.

“After listening to your feedback…” well if they’d done that they may well have taken the hint that the vast majority of sellers want this simple delivery done away with and a return to how it was! If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it !

Going to a store or a locker to pick up my item isn't for me.
07-05-2025 11:57 AM
how do we send items that are in two or more boxes?
07-05-2025 11:59 AM
I use store/locker whenever its an option, so much better than having parcels stolen after delivery people leave them on my door step when Im at work. Id even pay more for an alternative listing that has this option over one that doesnt.

Good job you'll be able to choose to have it delivered then, really.

It is ok for them to try and tempt sellers to use Evri parcelshops to drop off parcels . As a seller myself why would I offer this when I have a round trip off 15 miles when my local post office is just 10 minutes walk away . My local shop in my village has had a inpost locker which I am not able use because off the restriction they have put who we are able to use . Sellers have already not able to add the packing side off postage , so now they want me to start doing a round trip off 15 miles most days to what they feel is a benefit. It is a shame they can not spend there time putting the damage right what Simply Delivery has caused like not being able to combine postage for inland or international delivery system unless you use GSP and we all that is away off lining Ebays pocket because off the price . Some sellers can not even send a combined invoice at the moment for international postage which means if you do not use GSP are not able post internationally . When this all kicked off buyers where promised postage rates off 20% less than what you could buy from the local post office . Postage prices maybe are lower but by the time you add VAT on top it is just the same .

I completely disabled Evri, i get it some people have a great experience with them, but for me - its almost always a disaster, they have lost multiple items of mine in the past and tried to get out of paying compensation

But can I ask if as a seller you had a round trip off 15 miles like me would you offer it on your listing . It is hard enough covering the costs off all your packing materials because Ebay have dictated who you can use to deliver your parcels . We all no it is a way making more profit on top all there other fees they are taking .

eBay really, really want us to use Evri...

You can not unless you pay for two lots off postage , ebay do not offer that as a option because they did not look how our postage system before trying to replace with something which does not . The only people who can not see is Ebay , why because they are more concerned about profit they are making .
07-05-2025 1:07 PM
Do you not know why , the people who have money in Ebay also back Evri .

If they must keep SD, then making Custom Postage an option is the only thing that could possibly tempt me back as a seller. And until I'm tempted back, I'm not buying from ebay either if I can help it, haven't done for over a month now whereas before 6th April, I used to buy several items a month.

Yeah, its that word "CURRENTLY" that worries me.
In future sellers might not have an option to opt Evri out of thier settings.

I too have to disable Evri as it is not viable for the round trip journey I would have to make. Also my items are mainly breakables and on the few occasions I used Evri in the past it did not end well.
However I am pleased to see that I can now send a 2kg parcel via RM for £3.44 and it will be tracked, which is what customers like so I am changing some of my listings over to Simple Delivery.
The problem is that a pottery item weighing 1.7k (for example) will definitely weigh just over 2Kg when packed and then the price jumps to £10.55 which is not an acceptable price. Please look at this. You currently have RM 48 up to 10kg for just £6.80, why the huge price difference?

We’ve been listening to your feedback whilst rolling out this change.....
I think Ebay either need to get their ears tested or change the hearing aid batteries because there's no way that they have been listening.
07-05-2025 1:26 PM
So why are you only using royal mail to deliver your parcels instead off Evri .

This latest email just adds to the mess. Listening to what feedback? The rollout completion is almost a month overdue and they’re still chopping and changing and making things more awkward for sellers, clearly with the sole aim of getting more of us to use evri.
The only thing that would get me to return as seller and buyer (I’ve done neither since March) would be keeping custom postage as an option for all sales.
