I presume he's just trying to cover all the bases, but I don't think he stands a chance of getting this sorted out with Royal Mail. The parcel wasn't lost - it was delivered. (More info on his other post)

I agree, they will most likely carry out an 'investigation' with the outcome being that the Postie does not recall the delivery but stating that they have obtained a signature, photo and geolocation confirming that what was entered into the postal network was delivered to the address given...

That's why I filed it under 'lost parts' in the claim

I keep wondering when I read your threads on this, as the item was pre-owned (so I presume the box wasn’t factory sealed), was it sellotaped up when it was posted out?
If not, Royal Mail could argue it could easily have opened up in transit and the contents fell out.
For future with things like this, a buyer could always claim an item isn’t as described just by the fact the box was ruined with a postage label or sellotaped up etc.
With valuable items it is good practice to take photos throughout the packaging stage just to protect yourself as much as possible. As you’ve seen, sometimes the Royal Mail don’t picture the parcel in the delivery photo.

Graphic card boxes are now pretty robust given the size and weight of the cards espec for this one, and they also have an outer sleeve box which folds in, together with the inner thick cardboard box which again folds shut so there is little to no chance that the contents would just fall out.
I would have at least put in a black non see through mailer bag though, wrapped in a few layers of bubble wrap/foam. 🤣
