I paid for postage through packlink and sent it on the 30th aug, it's been successfully delivered on the 2nd sept. I've now (15th sept) received an email of packlink stating that I had extra charges for incorrect size/weight. It seems odd that I would have an email saying to pay an extra £2.50 for the incorrect size/weight even though the item has been delivered
does anyone else have this problem?

Hi I've only used packlink twice so I think I just selected & method and it's takes it out of withheld funds balance at the time. But I can see no way that they are their to be removed their not in subscriptions or anything
The £3.18 has just gone out my bank today. Though you can't go over on my bank account so it will get auto debited back. But I've messaged the bank anyway. Their chat robot automatically brought up if its to return funds a companies tacked on and debited with out permission & notice etc ( as apparently companies can't do this & people are allowed it rebated back it seems anyway).

This Must be Now becoming a much complained about problem to the banks. I've had other companies in past do this. But let the odd 1 slide. But It comes up Now when by their Robot Chat as being Classed as a "Direct Debit Indemnity" For Which the bank will/can seize the stolen money back. I have no Money in my account anyway so if nones put in by 2pm today the money will automatically be taken back by my bank anyway without this course of action. But I've logged it anyway. As dont want it happening again

The problem seems to be continuing.
Just had this happen with three separate parcels sent and successfully delivered earlier in the month.
Didn't get an email from Packlink about any of them, just spotted the three deductions of £3.18 in my statement and traced them back to the parcels concerned.
All three were within the weight and dimension limit (and so I hadn't even thought to photograph them before sending) so have raised a dispute on each, challenging Packlink to explain why they believe each parcel was non-complaint.
Will see where we get to, but won't be using Packlink again in a hurry based on this experience.

Clarification - email from Packlink found in ebay messages - after following it all back for an hour or so I think I can see the root of the problem - will explain later with screenshots - but in any case highlights arbitrary process without input of human brain, I think!

I sent three parcels on this basis:
All were under 15kg and within those dimensional limits, yet I was charged a surcharge of £3.18 on each one.
It appears that, unless one specifies the dimensions and weight of the parcel (which I'd (it appears wrongly) assumed one need not do as I knew that it was comfortably within those limits), ebay assumes that one's parcel weighs 1g and is 1cm x 1cm x 0.5cm, and this information is then transmitted within the barcode, and Evri then say "but this parcel is larger than that, and so a surcharge is payable", despite the overall limits within which the pricing specified by ebay supposedly applies.
I've gone back to argue this one out with Packlink and ebay, but in the meantime am using other services.

15kg is the maximum weight that can be sent with Evri.
There are various weight bands with different charges,£2.94 is for parcels upto 1kg,1-2kg is £4.06 and so on,this why you must select the appropriate weight band when purchasing labels.

A wise decision, once bitten twice shy.
Book your own indepently with Evri and you'll not get this tosh from Packlink.
If they carry on in this way they will go out of business by upsetting their customers and they deserve to do so. They should make it crystal clear the exact limits are for the price charged and, when the package is handed over to the Evri representative it should be their duty to check if it complies with the price band. If it does not comply then it should be dealt with there and then infront of your very eyes.

Yes, it's happening to me now. I think it is most definitely a big con!
I should imagine they think it's too much hassle to chase them up about a few pounds ( which it is for a lot of people ) and those few pounds add up.

Just received a demand for extra charges from Packlink. First item they said was weighing 1490 kg. Was a light socket weighing 300 gm. Second and third both said items over 1 kg. Both were well under this. Paid the amount as advised by ebay. Responded too them and they came back not accepting what i had said. Asking for pictures of the parcels and pictures of the weight. Clearly I do not have these. Which is probabky why they asked.
This is in my view very poor customer services with no opportunity for complaint.
This requires investigation. A very poor way to do business.

With the number of posts like this I don't think that it will be too long before someone decides to contact the Citizens Advice organisation which seems to have taken over part of the role of the now defunct Office of Fair Trading.

Two particular themes seem to be emerging here, with surcharges being claimed:
a) despite senders being convinced that their parcels are within qualifying weight and size parameters;
2) a not inconsiderable time after the parcel has been delivered, and with an almost impossible burden of proof placed on the sender attempting to dispute them, as of course the recipient has opened it upon receipt and so the "parcel" has ceased to exist;
I know that ebay make the point that Packlink is an independent service provider, and of course there is no obligation on sellers to use Packlink, but I do also find the "Buy a Label" page on ebay a little misleading.
If one has not included the weight of the item being sold (actually the packed weight of the item being sold) as part of the item description then the message one sees against the the standard Evri service on the "Buy a Label" page the text reads "Up to 15 kg with maximum length 120 cm and sum of length and girth not to exceed 245 cm. Powered by Packlink." and displays a price of £2.94. From this one might reasonably assume that this is a flat rate for parcels up to 15kg, although it most certainly isn't.
In the interests of transparency perhaps ebay should either alter the wording on the "Buy a Label" page to make the banding options clearer (perhaps make each weight band a separate item in the shipping options list?) or alternatively make including an item weight (or weight band) a compulsory field when listing an item.
We shall have to see where this all goes!

I've just had an email this morning, stating that the kids raincoat I just sold was over the specified 1kg £2.94 paid. They are charging an extra £3.18 for an overweight item. There is no way this small lightweight kids coat was over 1kg - it's laughable! Sent an email to packlink straight away. They have replied really quickly asking for photographic evidence which I do not have, and they assume this is the case for most sellers I think. I replied saying that I would get in contact with the buyer and and ask her to kindly weigh the coat, so that we have a better idea of the items weight. I also stated that this overcharging business was immoral and needed reporting to the appropriate authorities, which I hope to do at some pint today, just need to know who they are first! Packlink have just replied again to say they will let this one go as there may have been a mistake at their end. Too right there was! It seems like if you argue it, they may see the error of their ways! I don't think I will use packlink in the future, I don't want to deal with unscrupulous businesses like this, but if I do, I will weigh and photograph every detail of the parcel! Shame on eBay for letting this company treat their customers like this. ☹️

IT IS TIME TO TAKE ACTION
Don’t just be a victim
Looking at various forums, it is obvious that thousands and thousands of people complain of being defrauded this way. A few pounds here and there, it is not big deal for an individual, but when you add it all up, we are talking multi million fraud . I just spoke to an Ebay representative and EBay is not willing to do anything about this.
In fact Ebay will now take money directly from your bank account, if you have disabled Packlink in PayPal as an authorised payee.
Take action - Unity is strenght
Please report this to Trading Standards, plus, file an online report with the Police via Action Fraud.

I said on my first that if they wanted proof on an item sent WEEKS ago they needed to provide it else how was I to believe them?
They took the first one off as a "good will gesture"
Then I got another! I didn't bother fighting it because they'd said it was a one off but now I'm thinking I should have

Yes they have have don't this twice to me now. Both times I've selected Evri upto 15kg. I have even screen recorded me doing it and they still want to charge me weeks after it's been delivered. No email or messages from them on ebay or my my email as to what and why the extra charge.
