Hi. I have already posted on here about buying from a private seller. This got me thinking, if I wanted to be a private seller would I need a seccond account as I do mostly buy.
I went onto ebay and looked into this and the T&Cs.
I found this.
Are there additional requirements for business sellers?
The Sale of Goods Act 1979 (as amended), places numerous legal obligations on business sellers. In particular, items sold on eBay by business sellers to non-business consumers must be:
of "satisfactory quality"
"as described"
"fit for purpose"
If the seller is a private individual, the goods must be "as described," but not legally required to be of "satisfactory quality" or "fit for purpose."

If you're registered on this account as a business seller then you would need another account to sell your own private things. You cannot change from business to private on ebay.
If you're not registered as a business seller already there's nothing to stop you listing items on this account as a private seller, as long as you don't buy or make items in order to sell them.

I didn't mean that. I meant an ordinary account for someone who just buys and a seperate private account for selling as "Private seller" not a buisness account.

You can open another account, you just need a different email address.

You do not need another account, you an use this one if you are selling your own items.
If you are buying or making things to sell then you would need to open a new business account
See Start Selling https://www.ebay.co.uk/sellercentre/selling
You will need to provide eBay with bank details and have them confirmed before you can withdraw your payments from sales.
