I am a seller who has sold thousands of items through ebay over the years,
Now since ebay has started issuing their own delivery qr codes, I thought I might as well use them as they're probably even safer. I sent my parcel with the automated EVRI delivery
and Evri has now lost it. It is impossible to get trhough to them and its been a month. The seller wants a refund.
Do I get a refund from ebay too? Its their responsibility to offer a service that provides warranty. Why should I have my items lost.

Tell your buyer to open a 'not received' claim with ebay. And tell them it's ebay's job to refund, not yours!
Then, as it was Simple Del, ebay should refund your buyer.
You won't get anywhere trying to contact evri or packlink yourself.

By 'automated Evri delivery' do you mean 'Simple Delivery'?
If you do, then *ebay* not you, should refund the buyer.
If you were sent the postage label from ebay through the simple delivery system, it's ebay's job to refund the buyer, contact the courier and sort it out. Not yours.

Yes, the simple delivery. I tried to contact the packlink support to claim losses however haven't heard back

If it's Simple Delivery Packlink are not involved.
Ebay refunds the buyer, not you.

What if I refunded the buyer? Can I get compensated by ebay?

'What if I refunded the buyer? Can I get compensated by ebay?'
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
No. Don't have anything to do with the refund.
Just let ebay sort it out, and don't get involved.

"Why should I have my items lost." a seller I purchased from, asked that very question when we were trying to sort out what Evri had done with the package he had sent. Seems the seller really loses out when Evri doesn't deliver, etc. The buyer is refunded,..but what about the seller?
Interestingly enough, the package showed up the day Ebay was to have stepped in. This scenario has played out twice now; makes me wonder what ties Ebay has with Evri.

Under Simple Delivery eBay refund the buyer here, you still keep the original payment , so you do not lose out.

...I don't quite follow. So, you are saying: Under Simple Delivery eBay refunds the buyer and in addition, the seller keeps their payment? And, for the seller, there is no chasing a claim from the courier for a missing package?

'And, for the seller, there is no chasing a claim from the courier for a missing package?'
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
That is correct .... it's one of the good things about simple delivery.
Missing packages are very simple to sort out; ebay refunds the buyer. 😊
(Damages in the post may be more difficult to deal with, when there is the question of 'sufficient' packaging to take into account....)

What about the seller? Do they just lose the item without compensation as we don't get paid until its delivered.

With Simple Delivery :
If the parcel is *not* confirmed delivered, the seller will get the money 14 days after posting.
If the parcel is confirmed as lost before that 14 days is up, the payment might take longer (think I've heard 30 days somewhere...?) but the seller *will still get the payment*
With S.D. ebay take the hit , not the seller.

With no tracking to show delivery payouts are released after 14 days.
Under Simple Delivery sellers do not pay a buyer for items lost using eBay's SD delivery process, eBay makes those refunds.
Read about Simple Delivery here, it will explain the matter of lost or damaged items received.

I sold an item and was not aware thst the postage default was through Evri. I then posted the parcel to the buyer via royal mail. The buyer now has no way of confirming delivery through their ebay app and i think i am unlikely to be paid ad a result. Could someone help advise please.

Hello mily,
You *will* get paid for your item, but because there's no tracking, the payment will take about 14 days to come through... you'll get it in the end!😀

Here is a new one for you apparently an evri courier who just delivered a package I sent, thinks that a photo of a parcel in the back of a van amongst other ones is proof of delivery! I can only hope I get feedback soon to confirm it

I had an unusual and negative experience with Evri last month:
I had ordered from an ebay seller, and the item got dispatched fine. I got the usual delivery update notifications (expecting it, got it, on it's way) then an out for delivery notification... between 19:00 and 21:00. Ah. A problem. Delivery was requested to what is clearly a business address and it will be closed at that time of night, with nowhere to leave it. Sure enough, a delivery attempt/fail at 20:35 with the expected message from Evri "we're sorry, we're not able to delivery your parcel today, but we will deliver it on the next working day" That was on June 17th.
No tracking updates came on the 18th or the 19th. I left it a week, hoping it would resolve itself. But on the 25th June still nothing, so I chased it with the seller. They chased it with Evri. And then something I'd never seen or heard of before happened - Evri backdated it to show as delivered at 20:00 on the 18th!
I told the seller this wasn't the case and pointed out the lack of proof from Evri. There last out for delivery tracking update was the 17th, and there was no GPS verification or photo for this newly appeared proof. The seller replied that Evri had done this with their parcels before - marked as delivered when something had gone wrong, to buy time while they tried to sort it out. So it'll probably turn up. I gave it another week just in case it arrived, but I never got the item and Evri still had it marked on their system delivered. The seller didn't bother responding to further messages about refund or replacement. So a double let down really. A poor seller using a poor courier.
I did manage to get a refund, but ebay made it from their own funds, not taking it from the seller. That's because Evri had marked it as delivered, putting ebay in a bit of a bind. They've got a seller on one hand with "proof" of delivery who is therefore protected (even though it wasn't true and no proof beyond the word of Evri) Then they had me as the buyer, also protected by ebay from not receiving an order. EBay pays for Evri's bad ways.
I'll never buy from a seller using Evri again, as I cannot trust Evri. Obviously, I won't be using Evri to send anything out either.

in February i had purchased a sweatshirt on ebay auction from a private seller .
Evri was the sellers chosen method for delivery.
when i checked ebay for tracker info , was surprised to find Evri claimed delivered the previous day. on checking the proof of delivery photo found the item with two others in the photo left on a path next to a wall , nothing like my doorway or dwelling.
on raising the matter with evri they told me to contact the sender & didn't want to know.
Ebay support just said the items "delivered " by the carrier case closed.
So i opened a case with my Bank to get a refund to my payment card & after giving them evidence including the evri photo they cancelled the payment to Ebay two weeks after, refunding me.
Never found out if Ebay or the seller took the hit on the refund.
