Hi - I have been a regular buyer on International ebay (I live in New Zealand).  Just recently, I have noticed an enormous increase in sellers who state We do not send to New Zealand, when previously they were quite content to send to NZ.  Is anyone able to tell me just why the situation has changed?  Is there now some deterrent to sellers supplying NZ?  I know that our Govt has recently introduced GST payments at a lower theshold, charged at source; there is an option for these charges to be absorbed by the seller, but only some will do this.  I am rather baffled and have had to cross these sellers off my list, when it appears that they are perfectly happy to send items to politically unstable countries. Just a suggestion, but a filter for the stock fulfilled country would stop me cancelling orders on eBay and going to amazon prime.   when an ad shows a UK seller. the once purchased you get you it will take 2 weeks email  and a fake tracking number that never works   I f you buy in the UK royal mail ( if you use Royalmail ) will take 3 days max. couriers next day or 2-day max... ( unless its Hermes)     An eBay filter for stock shipped from would save a lot of time when listing a product and you say! I'm a UK seller" it should default to a 2-4 day service only... so if you lie you get found out.     just a suggestion   Jamie ... View more

I've tried to bid on several of a Seller's many items, but receive instead the following message - "Sorry, the Seller is not accepting bids or offers from you at this time"  I tried to contact the Seller via a listing and got this message - "Seller unable to respnd".   Can anyone offer an explanation?   Thanks   ... Hi all, Is there any way I can set my purchase preference "Permanently' to UK only?   I'm tired of getting caught out.   If we need to be in lockdown due to the virus, I can't wait for over a month for something to come from far away. I want it to be uk only.   I did a search on this topic and there seems to be numerous queries regarding this and no proper resolution.   I really don't want to cause a bother and problems to the people at the other end. But so far this week I've cancelled two orders. I try to always tick UK only. But then I get distracted by other bits and pieces that are similar. And before I know it I've bought something that will take 30+ days to arrive.   Due to the virus lock down, at the moment I don't even want to see products that are not in the UK.   So due to the difficulty we find ourselves in, is there not some way that eBay can facilitate a fix to be permanent (unless otherwise decided by the purchaser)   look forward to hearing from you.   ... i posted an item back signed for as seller agreed to refund if i sent item back and it says on track and trace website Sorry, we were unable to deliver this item at 01-04-2020 as the recipient is no longer at that address. Seller agreed to organise a courier to pick up a patio set weighing 25 kg and refund.    The patio set was variously described as being Rattan, Wicker and  the instuctions described it as canvas.  It was none of these, it was plastic with a metal base.  I contacted the seller and said that it was not rattan, but was prepared to keep it for a refund of one third of the selling price.  No response.    I attempted to assemble it and found that there were several important screws missing and it was out of alignment and could not be  assembled.    I sent the seller a clear photo showing that the item was plastic and not rattan, wicker or canvas.  Seller ignored this and requested photographs of the defectve item.  He ignored my advice that there were pieces missing.   It is clear that he is taking advantage of me and making it difficult for me to return it,.   Ebay has issued a 48 hour Tracked label for a 25 kg item that Royal Mail will not accept.  I am 79 years and vulnerable to Covid-19.  The seller knows this.      I have reported the seller to ebay as I feel that he has violated Ebay policies  by accepting the return and promising to organise the courier to pick it up and return it to him.  He has had a sudden change of mind, and has offered £25 refund and I keep a defective item, losing over £125.00.  He is creating unrealistic obstacles making it difficult for me to return the item. He is demanding photographs of a "defective item."  I cannot take photographs of items that are not there, or correctly show that the chairs are out of alignment and will not connect to the frame.  The photograph will just show where the connections are on the seat and on the frame, but not that they do not line up.     Is there anything further that I should do?  I cannot accommodate such a large item in my home, it is creating a hazard and it makes me more vulnerable as it is a trip hazard, and I have had both of my hips totally replaced in the last few years.  A fall or trip could cause dislocation and hospitalization at a very difficult time due to the Covid-19 virus.   This seller is behaving in a very unethical manner.  ... Ebay has issued a prepaid label for me to return a 25 kg package by Royal Mail.  At age 79 years, I cannot go out.  I cannot carry the package because it is too big and heavy.  The item was defective and the seller has agreed to take it back  It was sent by Courier Yodel.   Ebay has not encompassed the pandemic.  What should I do? ... After winning an auction earlier today for an Apple Watch Series 3 there turned out to be hidden charges for import taxes and exchange rate fees, that's before your item even arrives an eWorld there be more costs then. This is wrong and I have delayed things for the moment. Does anyone think £90 taxes and a further £20 exchange fees on top of the buying price is right? Theres currently a discount code that features on certain auctions ( 'POP15' ). having tried to enter it a few times at the checkout it doesn't work and an error message comes up in red saying that the code can't be applied to the order.   This must happen a lot.   I just bid on an item, was the only bidder, won the auction at the very low starting price.  I could see that the item in question would cost a lot more than the seller had allowed.     Now I have been in that position myself and wrote to the buyer to explain and said I would sell them the item for the winning bit, but would they pay an extra pound or two for postage. They never responded.   After two days I gave them a full refund and put the item back for sale.  I wrote to them twice with no response.     In this situation as the BUYER.  I also have written to the seller and said I understand they have made a mistake and they have auctioned this item thinking it would make money and it hasnt.  But they havent written back and have ignored my messages and have put the item back for auction.   So what can you do when a seller ignores that you have won the auction, doesnt take your money which you paid promptly and puts the same item back for auction at the same starting price and same postage costs.   I wrote and explained their mistake, and they just never got back.  Apart from being very rude, I WON THE AUCTION AND PAID but havent been sent the item.     Any ideas ??? ...
