International sellers hidden fees and PayPal Credit issues

After winning an auction earlier today for an Apple Watch Series 3 there turned out to be hidden charges for import taxes and exchange rate fees, that's before your item even arrives an eWorld there be more costs then. This is wrong and I have delayed things for the moment. Does anyone think £90 taxes and a further £20 exchange fees on top of the buying price is right?

On top of this he won't accept PayPal Credit or it sais that this seller can't or won't etc.

sounds like you purchased from a seller using Global and in that case the charges are not hidden as the Global charges are on the listing.

PayPal always charge exchange rates for different currencies.

PayPal Credit is a financial service offered by Paypal - it has nothing at all to do with the seller or with Ebay.

Import taxes etc are not hidden. They are clearly shown to you on the listing if the item is being shipped by Ebay's Global Shipping Programme, so that you can make an informed buying decision.

And if the seller ships internationally direct, the listing clearly states that taxes etc may be due when the goods enter the country, and it is your responsibility as the buyer to find out what they are likely to be by visiting the UK government's website, and before you buy or place a bid.

So pay what you owe and as contracted. If you don't, the seller is likely to open an Unpaid Item case against you, in order to get back the selling fee Ebay charged him the second the auction ended with you as the winning bidder. One Unpaid Item strike won't hurt you, but another one in the next 12 months will prevent you from buying from all Ebay sellers who have their accounts set to block non-payers.

Paypal credit has nothing to do with seller, they don't know how you fund purchase.

As far as I know paypal have withdrawn the credit facility for the time being.
