Hi all
Has anyone been successful and getting a customer feedback removed. I received a neutral feedback yesterday but the actual feedback isn't about the service I provided but is a comment about the contents of the book (Product review). I appealed the feedback but Ebay have rejected it which I feel is wrong. Is it worth fighting it?

I had a neutral removed a couple of weeks ago.
The buyers feedback said that the order was left with their neighbour as they were out and the postman did not leave them a message to say what had happened.

Your initial Feedback should be positive: when someone pays, say "Thank you!" and that's enough. When you get stupid feedback you can post a Reply which will inevitably make the buyer look bad:
"-ve FB unfair: when book's content displeases, blame author".
The comment will not affect the buyer's feedback score but will amuse readers and some will block the buyer.

The daftest eBay feedbacks are like gold dust. Treasure it, after you have replied to it.

My classic feedbacks are:
The neg from Little Mr Picky the retail guru about an item I'd sold 1000s of, and never had a complaint about colour. He had amassed a total of six feedback from sellers, and had awarded three negs - one of which was to give advice about packaging because one corner of the box was crushed.
I am sorry to leave a negative feedback but the colour advertised is totally different from the one I received. I am aware that colours on screen may look slightly different but in these case pictures are misleading (checked in 3 devices). I ordered 2 colours and they both don't match the pictures. The seller should work on the marketing material, review the pics to faithfully match the products. Great shipping time and quality though.
A neg from a buyer that ordered nine metres of ribbon. The ribbon was sent in one continuous length.
Ordered 9 and have received 1
A positive from a buyer that ordered 5m of 13mm white ribbon. No part of this order is 20cm, nor does white ribbon have a 'design' that can be matched to ones purchased from Hobbycraft.
In design, they're just as I expected, but they're not quite the 20cms as advertised (19cms). That wouldn't matter, except I wanted them to match the ones I bought from Hobbycraft. But I think I can manage with them.
Buyer ordered one item. Neg received the day after that one item was despatched.
Hello - I have two items I am still awaiting for?
Buyer ordered 20 items. Delivery attempted twice, parcel returned to sorting office. Buyer started raising INRs, one for each item on the order and ignored messages to pick up parcel. Sent me repeated messages demanding a refund and threatening to report me to eBay. I asked eBay to step in. They did, and closed the case. I received a message, calling me all manner of names - and a neg.
Very bad costomer service. (Her spelling, not mine)
eBay refused to remove any of the negs.

Surely if you had a case closed in your favour, the neg should be automatically removed?
At least that's how it is supposed to work.

That's what I thought, but the computer said 'No'.
None of the feedback was removed. In eBay's opinion, the buyer had a negative buying experience, and it was all my fault.
That's one of the reasons why I concentrate my energies on other platforms and my website.

"Personally I would attempt contact with the buyer and politely point out that feedback is for my performance, not for any review of the book's content and ask them to consider revising their feedback."
I'm mostly a buyer and this isn't the case any more. When I give feedback, ebay ask me the question "How would you rate this item". Then they ask "Tell us more about this item", and they suggest that you mention Quality, Condition, Value, Appearance. It's yet another example of the absolutely ridiculous policies that ebay are now pursuing. There is no way to give feedback on the seller, other than ticking a box for a positive or negative experience.
Yet another ridiculous policy is automatic 100% positive feedback on tracked deliveries. What I'm most interested in as a buyer is whether a seller is accurate in their descriptions. Now, a seller can give a rubbish description but get 100% positive feedback because of tracked delivery.
The feedback system is completely broken.

From 23 April 2025, we'll no longer remove negative or neutral feedback in some returns situations. - A step in the right direction ?
With regards to auto feedback which is left by ebay after 7 days for a business seller or a private seller using simple delivery, it will help sellers with ebay's systems especially when starting out or when a low volume seller.
The feedback will be a statement of the transaction - “Order completed successfully - tracked and on time.” and will be removed automatically if a negative experiance, ie cancellation, INR or return are opened.
It will also be removed if a customer leaves their own feedback after ebay's

I wonder what happens if it's tracked and not on time (according to eBay's estimate).
