We have over 200 ebay listings with Zero Sales all Bank Holiday Weekend.
Ebay was once our best selling platform but since start of 2025 we are going downward with sales. Our sales were exceptional last year but even though we are advertising both paid and General still sales are not hitting.
What is the result of this downward decline - Has anyone else noticed it. We are now paying over £50 to ebay everyday for Promoted listings but getting no Sales.
Please share your thoughts.

Something will need to be done. These companies will have excess goods and they will be looking to ship somewhere.

I have never used promoted listings, too expensive. I use multi-buy discounts in my multi-variation listings and this has been working very well up to a few months ago when sales fell through the board. I have my discounts set from 10 to 70% for 4 or more items.

Have you tried replacing the discounts with promoted listings to see if it improves things?
I know you say it's too expensive, but if you're giving 10% to 70% off 4 items, that's the equivalent of 2.5% to 17.5% per item that you could afford to put into promoted listings instead if you wanted to give it a try.

That's not quite true though is it.
If your giving a discount on multibuy, then you will no doubt be saving on postage costs.....
It's not that big a stretch (depending on the item), to have exactly the same postage for 1 or 4 items.
And if you sending it as a parcel at £4 a go, then you are effectively saving £12 for the extra 3 items!
Unfortunately, if your advertising, then that cost can be considerably higher, depending on which promotions your using. Especially as you can't guarantee that you will sell more than one item at a time.

True, true - I didn't think of the saved shipping costs. I do still think there could be some room to experiment with PL, depending on the items, just not as much as I stated.

Hello everyone, how are you doing? I see many sellers are facing slow sales right now, it’s really difficult, especially when you have to pay for warehouse rent and other expenses.
In my case, I have almost 1,000 listings and get less than 17 sales per day and these are low value items. Before, I used to sell at least 150 items daily so this is a big problem.
Because of this, I am thinking of canceling my monthly subscription and keeping only 200 listings to save money.
If you are interested in buying products in bulk, please message me just look at my items. I have a lot of stock that I need to clear especially dresses, tablet and laptop pouch cases and toys.
If you are also struggling with slow sales, let’s talk maybe we can help each other. Thank you!

Yes it is tough all round. Even new lines I bought in for summer (Swimwear) are selling a lot less than last year. Stamps are virtually dead, coins ok-ish, postcards dead. In times like this I find it difficult to keep motivation going. Luckly I have made some excellent investments over last 10 year which I could call on if needs be. I have my OAP, DLA and a small war pension giving me an income which I can just about live on. Any extra I get from selling off 40 years of trading stock is useful. I have given my business unit landlord notice to quit (6 months as per contract) that will save me £350/month after December.

I wish I hadn't looked - I've been seeing men in swimming trunks on the eBay homepage since I did! 😳 🙈 😆

I was sending up to 12 parcels a day last year, this year I am lucky to send 1 in a day.
We are in a massive recession although it isn't publicised, so many shops, pubs and businesses are struggling, many are closing.
Nobody is spending.

I have been doing a lot of research over last few weeks on this subject. Over the weekend I found a very interesting video on Youtube by an Anchor store seller who's sales had plummeted since November last year, so much so he has made 4 of his staff redundant. His sales were down from £1,500+ per day to about £20. What he has found is that eBay have changed how listing are shown in the searches. Sellers who use advertising campaigns get higher ratings in the searches.
I have just set up my 1st General Campaign with 154 recommended listings. I will have to pay an additional 5% commission when any of these items sell but if I get better sales all the better.
I have also requested eBay review this community feed and pass comment and add helpful advice.

I have just found another possible cause of lost sales. Over last few weeks a number of potential buyers have phoned me asking if I do Click and Collect. I am enrolled in this and have been for years. Just to did a check I used advanced search for myself which bought up 613 listings. I then selected option click and collect which only bought up 153 listings. It should have returned same number. I have just spoken top Concierges CS and he agreed with me something is seriously wrong. This would also explain why when I set up my 1st advertising campaign this morning it could only find 154 out of 613 listings. They are now looking into this oddity.

It's ebay charging hidden charges.
PayPal already guarantee delivery.
But no option to turn it off.
Greed kill big corporations.
Just make it clear what you are taking of the seller, how much the seller gets. Simple.

It's being going down hill for some time with the stupid things they have done over the last few years but the last nail in the coffin is simple delivery and buyers fees.
