Is anybody selling well?

In all my 16 years of being on here, I have never, ever known it so bad for selling. I’ve sold 2 items in a week. I get certain times a year when sales are poor, when the weather is good etc, but this is the run up until Xmas.

 is there anybody on here doing well or making a reasonable amount of sales.

It can’t all be bad for everyone…can it?

Terrible!! It turned November and it was as if someone had flicked a switch, never know ebay be this bad.

I’m doing okay, not as good as last year.

I am promoting at lowest possible %, ran a sale, and sent offers though!

I do list every single day, and tweak, end /sell similar everything advised to boost the algorithm.

Seem to be working harder for less. 

Have to say my inventory isn’t very high up on the gifting categories.

Ran a report for 1 Oct 2024 - 4 Dec 2024, compared to 1 Oct 2023 - 4 Dec 2023.
Total sales 38.1% down vs. previous time period.

Quantity sold is 45.9% down vs. previous time period.

Slightly up on average sales price, but this is due to p&p increases I imagine.

No, my inventory isn’t gifting aimed, but I do have items that a Dh collector may like, possibly something they buy them selves for Xmas. I even have some unique items, only one on eBay and still no takers…

@spence0175 I am the same, collectible market is a niche. I have had several buyers have indicated they purchased an advert or article to get framed for a relative, but I have to make the most of that with item specifics. 
Without being patronising have you ventured on to the increase your sales thread.

It’s positive in these dark times.

I am, yes. 

Sales for the last 31 days, 20% up on the same period last year in terms of £££s and 8% up in terms of quantity sold.

yes I try different things.. Spread out listing. Send out offers. End and sell similar. Lower a price. I must have sent out 80 offers at the weekend and not one bite.

The one thing that strikes me most is lack of watchers. I usually get 1 or 2 per item or more but many have none..

I guess it is what it is..

In honesty it is going OK on the run up to Christmas. It has been a bad year until the last 2-3 months. I'm working less so selling less but it's still at a good level. Fees and returns have become a much bigger issue though. In honesty does it matter? 13th December is approaching and I still dont have a scooby doo whats going on so...shrug.

Its not good on Ebay,I`m 30 % down on the begin of the year.

My main issue is that a seller in my category has now 10 shops all run by the same person all selling the same items so no-one can get a viewing on the first few pages . 

This search manipulation /duplicate listings  and they dont need to pay any promotion fees as when Ebays algorithm hides my/your items they still have the items shown but from a different shop.  

Its so flooded by by this practice that Ebay shoppers can`t find what they are looking for and leave to another platform.

If you go to Amazon you get a good choice of  items from different sellers ,so I can easily see why Ebay are losing so many customers and sellers.

This is also going to get even worst  as more "PRIVATE SELLERS" can offer products minus the Ebay seller fee.

Its time to change and that means selling elsewhere on other platforms and your own shop.

Very hard this year, last year was better 4 me but this year near 2 xmas is a joke.  tell you what so glad i made a few sales away from ebay lately as this helped me out a bit like. I don't even buy anymore except on a couple things that i need 2 sell away from ebay as i got a few friends that support me so that is cool.

My year hasn’t been brilliant but I’ve trickled along.  A new year ahead and here’s hoping it gets a bit better for us all

Absolutely dire here after 3 years of solid growth it’s like someone pulled the plug on my sales.
I’ve read through the tips to increase sales thread and there was a lot of good info which gave me some fresh ideas to try. 

I’m listing daily, sending offers, various promotions running, sending newsletters and ending stagnant items then relisting selling similar all to no avail.  
Sales did pick up as they usually do in my category come September but by mid/late October it’s been a rapid decline. I’d usually remain busy until first sign of summer.

Suggestions welcome if anyone has any 🙏

I’ve not had a good year and although I have sales it’s not at the level it’s been in previous years.   It’s still worth me being here but if next year shows a further decline I’ll have to think about selling off my stock in bulk
