Insurance cover - posting high value item

I need to post an item worth £30,000 to the Ebay authenticator.  Can anyone recommend an appropriate courier as Royal Mail, DHL, etc. only cover up to a few thousand pounds.  Thank you

Re: Insurance cover - posting high value item

I used to send very high value items to America via DHL,  it was a very good service.  Many years ago though.  I remember that they has one service where someone flew with the package.  Always though that was a dream job!

Re: Insurance cover - posting high value item

Just a thought, might be worth contacting any higher class auction houses that you are near to - they send hugely high value items on a daily basis around the world.  I'm thinking the likes of Bonham, Turnbulls, Sotheby's and Christies.

Other thing to do might be to contact the authenicators directly if you can, they will have experience of this type of delivery.  Or perhaps GIA or other precious metal authenticators.

Must surely be an everyday thing for most of them.

There is a UK company called SECURUS which, I think, underwrites insurance for high value items being couriered.  Worth googling, according to their website they care £300 for your value, might be on top of the courier costs.

Lastly, contact other watch sellers on eBay for their advice.
