Ebay was always heavily weighted in favour of the Buyers, but this new mad rule thats coming in next month about having to wait two days after delivery is confirmed to get paid is simply beyond the pale.
And sometimes delivery conformation never comes, apparently in that situation we have to wait 14 days to get our money.
This is disgusting and completely nuts. A self-destructive move from Ebay.

As a guide eBay (UK) has over £1.3bn passing through its accounts annually so just holding payments up by a few days leads to significant interest for them . Well North of £100k a day by a rough calculation. It employees very few people as well as a company (420) so it generates huge profits.
Due to the automated AI Bots taking over eBay the human staff have now been made redundant and are now on here 24-7 defending eBay and attempting to brainwash people to move over to business seller accounts to "avoid the new UNFAIR payment rules" for private sellers...

So eight days after delivery the funds have been released. I am grateful this has eventually been resolved. If these are teething problems I can live with that. I just hope that is the case.

Do you have a favourite way of cooking them?

At least you're honest !
Thankfully someone is.
Never seen so many who aren't in one place before.

Totally agree not to mention EBay making vast amounts of interest on the money held !
laughable decision in this already mad world we now live in 🤦♂️

I support any genuine private seller, selling their own possessions. All yours are brand new known brand items and when one sells, you list another.
It doesn't matter how many times you say 'I'm not a business' because it is pretty obvious to everyone who looks at your listings.

Hope they don't take it from your eBay balance ! 😞

I don't think there is any point in selling private items anymore. One was posted (and received) another one was handed over to the customer's hands the very next day.

my experience so far as been okay. 6 items sold since this system started, 5 marked as delivered and money into my e bay account within the 2 days, one posted on 7th not recorded as delivered yet but money has gone in today 20th. As i am not desperate for the money i am okay with it so far.

My but people get on their high horses here. I have enjoyed reading so many who aren't effected defend the current practices, knowing full well they'd say the opposite if it were taking it's toll on them. Third item sold since the changes came into force, and the first one that has raised an issue that is contrary to what ebay have said so far. I understand the Buyer Protection Fee is supposed to be paid by all UK buyers. Fine, I don't agree with it, but it's scalping up front. However, the latest I sold was bought by someone from overseas and yet the BPF was still charged against the payment. If this is a sum to be paid by UK buyers, how has an international sale had it levied against the payment. I will say this too, when the item is delivered to the GSP hub, the payment is made to the seller, instantly, (well, to ebay balance at least) so roll on more sales to international buyers. However, I will be contacting ebay about the BPF made against the international sale since clearly the fee shouldn't be taken because the GSP is supposed to cover the protection of the sale.

All I can say is wow !, I wish I had your wealth !, as to not need the money ASAP !
These super slow payments on eBay have now turned my world upside down 😞

not being desperate for a couple of pounds does not mean i am wealthy - if only! Most of the items are actually relatives anyway who i do the hard work for (who are also not wealthy). I worked all my life, struggled to pay into a works pension and buy my own home, going without a lot of things that others did not and at best would describe my life as comfortable, in that i can pay my bills and keep my dog in vets fees and food! If i was desperate for money i would be still working not relying on selling a few e bay items. Everyone has their story!

The Buyer Protection Fee applies to any item purchased on ebay.co.uk not just to UK buyers. So if an international buyer purchases an item on ebay.co.uk they will be charged the Buyer Protection Fee whereas if they purchase the item on ebay.com or one of the other international sites then they won't be charged the fee.
The buyer pays the fee to eBay when purchasing on eBay.co.uk from UK private sellers (excluding Cars, Motorcycles & Vehicles, Classified Ads and Property).'

Fair enough, I only know ebay states it is any UK buyer, not any buyer on ebay UK. Two different things, and if that is being paid for protection, why are they also being charged that additionally in the Global Shipping Programme? Seems like ebay are taking protection money twice. Protection money, why am I suddenly reminded of unscrupulous gangsters taking money for protection? Curious 🙂

I understand. 😎
I was only joking. 😁
Still wish eBay would revert back to offering faster payments again so I can spend more money on here ! 😈
