Ebay was always heavily weighted in favour of the Buyers, but this new mad rule thats coming in next month about having to wait two days after delivery is confirmed to get paid is simply beyond the pale.
And sometimes delivery conformation never comes, apparently in that situation we have to wait 14 days to get our money.
This is disgusting and completely nuts. A self-destructive move from Ebay.

Don't hold your breath.
As I understand it, the 'pay on feedback' policy doesn't come into force until the end of the month. Otherwise, in your circumstances it's a 14 day wait.

You need to look at the facts. If all items are brand new and multiples have been sold then it doesn't take a lot to realise that these people are selling as a business, avoiding Ebay fees and not complying with UK law.
These are the sellers who have spoilt it for the genuine private sellers so you should be directing your frustration at them.

Sometimes we do - for example if we stocked up on something we thought we liked on a multibuy deal, or if we thought we might be unable to buy it in future, etc and then later discovered we didn't like something as much as we expected or had found a better item that we would rather use and now wanted to sell the excess items we had bought as we no longer expected to use them.

Fair point.

And the important word there is 'sometimes'.
But regularly selling brand new items for a profit is trading.

Good to see we agree.
We are on the same side as genuine private sellers. We too have personal accounts for our own unwanted items. The incorrectly registered regular private sellers can undercut a business seller every time as the do not pay any fees ( plus trade illegally). We pay a huge amount in fees to sell.
For a lot of small businesses, this is their income so we fight for fairness.

Oh, that's awful they're holding so much of your money. Mine's only £22 but it's the pricipal of the thing. Why should they hold on to it and make me have to chase it. That's important money to me, it could buy hubby and me a good cream tea!

Thanks for the info. Glad to know they thought this all through before putting it into action so it would cause stress for us poor folk who've only just got used to the last new stupid idea.

With interest rates half decent at 5% it makes sense for a business to hold onto your money for as long as possible. They just need to come up with a reason they can legally get away with and that doesn't annoy too many sellers.
As a guide eBay (UK) has over £1.3bn passing through its accounts annually so just holding payments up by a few days leads to significant interest for them . Well North of £100k a day by a rough calculation. It employees very few people as well as a company (420) so it generates huge profits.

maybe that is why 3 out of 3 of my parcels posted on the 17th were recorded as delivered on the 19th, because RM are conspiring with e bay...... Two i posted on the 7th, one arrived on the 10th and i have got that money in my own bank account now, the other has still not been recorded as delivered (and nothing yet from the buyer, either feedback or to say they have not received it) so not sure where that is but i will still get the money in a couple of days. By the way all my items are sent just standard 2nd class and i use the certificate of posting slip to put in the tracking number.
