Why am I paying tax on my shop subscription fee?

Hi All

When I signed up for an eBay shop I was led to believe that it would cost £27 a month. I've just been charged £32.40 for the month which includes additional tax (VAT I assume?)

I know that we have to pay VAT on things, but I can't find anywhere that says the shop subscription is £27 +VAT.

Have I missed it somewhere?

This doesn't help with my budgeting.

TIA

Sarah

As a UK VAT registered company eBay is required to collect VAT on all fees charged.

The 'Fees for Business Sellers' help page states at the bottom that all prices on the page exclude VAT:

Other terms and conditions

We always want to make sure we're clear about the fees we charge, so here are some details you should be aware of:

  • All fees displayed on this page are exclusive of VAT
