Ebay was always heavily weighted in favour of the Buyers, but this new mad rule thats coming in next month about having to wait two days after delivery is confirmed to get paid is simply beyond the pale.

And sometimes delivery conformation never comes, apparently in that situation we have to wait 14 days to get our money.  

This is disgusting and completely nuts. A self-destructive move from Ebay.

Thanks for helping me to try and understand. You'd think ebay would have the wherewithal to explain all this in a clear and transparent way. I appreciate that if a buyer pays via debit or credit card then ebay wait for those funds to be received/cleared, but that is no different to previous/legacy system, and if I refunded a buyer (i.e. for combined postage) it was deducted from the original source funds (not from my ebay balance or bank account) so why now the change and confusion? 

I'm also still waiting for funds to be cleared on x3 items that were recorded as delivered (RM2nd class LL) on ebay 15th Feb and 16th Feb - which is now 5 and 4 days overdue respectively (or 3 and 2days respectively allowing for the 2-days after recorded delivery). All my RM48Hr tracked have have cleared funds 2-days post delivery, but not the latter ones. My head hurts....

The answer is simple. eBay are holding your funds intentionally to make as
much interest as possible before they release funds to you.

You're lucky if RM have recorded the delivery successful on eBay. This must
be wrong because eBay doesn't want delivery showing the longer it appears
undelivered the more money they make
I've sent all my deliveries tracked 48 which show delivered on RM track &
trace but not on eBay, no surprise there. eBay are holding £235 of my money
for weeks and making interest from property that never has and never will
belong to them. Imagine the money their making from every private seller.
No wonder they dropped fees and had a massive drive to attract new private
sellers to con.

I'm wondering if it would be easier for the people running ebay to rent a room full of cash and rub it all over each other until they have exhausted the temptation and then maybe they will be reformed into normal human beings again and can get back to running an online marketplace that gets the balance right between being making a fair profit for shareholders and being fair to it's users to ensure it has a sustainable business model and so the shareholder capital is protected long term.

In business it's a false economy to drive earnings so hard that it destroys the business. I learned that playing  the original Sim City when you set the taxes up to 20% everyone moves out of town and you end up with less tax revenue after a few years.

Since the start of this fiasco I have posted approximately 6 items and standard with the first being due for release on Saturday 22nd.  However, this morning I had two items international to Denmark and decided to post tracked which means I should get that money early next week unless Ebay decided to hold payments for other reasons

If your sending item international best way to send them is Ebay Global Shipping Programme Tracked when they reach Litchfield UK and they are signed your money gets release after 2 days , its down to eBay then to get them delivered

Day ten after two items with a combined value of £160 reached the global shipping hub which ebay indicates (in writing) is reception of goods. Day 8 since both items were received by the buyer. Not the depot in the home country. Received by the buyer.

Day 8! Both accepted as delivered 8 days ago on the ebay order page. Day eight of funds pending awaiting delivery.

So I am left with the sight of a green delivered tick on the order page at the same time at the bottom of the transaction it says 'awaiting delivery'. Been like that for 8 days.

This isn't the Royal Mail's fault and their foreign equivalent. They fulfilled their job. This is ALL on ebay.

Getting paid 2 days after delivery. I dream of getting paid 2 days after delivery.

Unacceptable.

It's called 'Ensh**ification' and is happening to all businesses the world over; super-speeded up thanks to the invention of the internet.

It goes something like this:

Somebody has a Good Idea for a product or service that will improve peoples' lives and they are willing to pay for.

Business goes well and is successful, leading advertisers to want to advertise there.

After a while the business realises that they're making just as much money from the advertisers as from their customers , and advertisers *don't* need expensive customer support.

Business starts concentrating on advertisers and not caring about customer support and starts using computer systems instead of humans that need paying.

(95% of the time this works. When the un-supported 5% leave, the business doesn't care because they've more than made up for that by the savings on human wages)

Now the business is doing so well the share price starts going through the roof.

Now the business only starts caring about more ways to push the share price up (because that translates to huge bonuses [like 6 figures bonuses]  and wages for the top tier people-who are obviously the ones making these decisions)

Now they don't care if helping the share price up is bad for the advertisers. The original customers are so far down the food-chain now, they just don't count.... and unfortunately, that's where we are.😞

Very true. The 'development cycle' seems to ensure that once you've exhausted all the possible ways to make a product better all future changes are guaranteed to make it worse.

This sadly is symptomatic of a dying society. The UK appears to be on it's knees. I don't want to be hyperbolic but this whole ebay situation is par for the course. Private and public sector. We exist to be exploited. From a 'the customer is always right' ethos we are now in a universe with a diametrically opposed philosophy.

One thing I have noticed this week is that MusicMagpie and World of Books have suddenly started sending me far more emails than usual. I wonder if they are noticing any difference here. If they start second guessing this place then eBay are in big trouble.
