I’ve seen this question asked over and over this weekend, will I be able to get a Royal Mail collection with Simple Delivery?
According to the FAQ you can…
“Collection is available for items sent through Simple Delivery with Royal Mail labels only. You can book a collection on the Royal Mail website after you create your Simple Delivery label.”

Do you know if Royal Mail bring the labels with them when you book a home collection? I only ask as I don’t have any printing facilities at home, and knowing my luck they’d turn up and all my items would be unlabelled.
You can't select for RM to bring a label.

You have been given 2 different answers above and they are both correct.
To explain,If you buy your postage direct from Royal Mail they will bring a label but you cannot do this with Simple Delivery as the postage is paid by the buyer(unless seller uses free postage) and any postage you buy will be at your expense, the buyer would receive a refund if the original label supplied by eBay wasn't used.
To book a collection that has a Simple Delivery label you have to print the label yourself although eBay are working with RM to find a solution to home collection

But the postman bringing the label will bring the label the buyer bought. That’s why you copy the tracking no from the label into the collection request. But tick bring a label instead of printing it.
you wouldn’t have to buy it, royal mail would print it instead of you.

It doesn't work with eBay labels ,try it yourself
In fact eBay even state
'After receiving shipping confirmation simply book a collection through Royal Mail’s website. At the moment you’ll need to print your label but we hope to provide a printerless collection option very soon. '

Just to add to this - I have just used simple delivery and then went straight to the Royal Mail website, booked a pickup and it seems very simple. I don't think it's as easy as it was before (where the option for a pickup was listed as part of the process) but it seems easy enough.

You just deselect Evri as an option in your seller settings so that's not an option for buyers.

But it charges 30p per parcel!

But it then charges 30p...........

I know - this is something they seem to have introduced last week (or that's the first time I used it since they've introduced it). Rather annoying, although as my postie pointed out, it saves a trip to the Post Office (no mean round trip from where I live) and avoids queues. Every silver lining has a cloud 😁

collection service via royal mail is NOT free with simple delivery label. I was charged when booking collection for tracking from simple delivery label. How to opt out? there is no option to change, can only change couriers or simple delivery / collection in person

Did you book the collection separately on the Royal Mail website or from within eBay?
Other posters have reported that they weren't charged the 30p when using the new option of booking the collection within eBay:
If you have a Royal Mail label, you can book a collection on eBay. Royal Mail can then collect your item and also bring the label for you if you don't have a printer. You'll need to book the collection before you create your prepaid label. Here's how:
Once you've booked your collection, you won't be able to change the date. If you miss your collection, you can book it again for another date on the Royal Mail website.
