The introduction of the eBay Buyer Protection fee of 75p plus 4% of the value of goods, effective from 19th February 2025 has effectively killed off eBay (UK).
Buyers have walked away and Private Sellers are now forced to drastically reduce their prices to try to compete with 'Business Sellers', who are not subject to the eBay Buyer Protection fees.
It's a great shame, and unless eBay's management team in San Jose, California see the error of their ways, and quickly, there will be nothing left to salvage from the wreckage !!

I am sure I read on here that ebay had decided to give out the money quicker once its delivered if it is under £10? I sold an item and its under £10 but it still showing as money available on the 15th March.
I think its gone dead on ebay since they brought in this fee that buyers have to pay so it must be putting buyers off.

Currently, if the buyer leaves positive feedback, you will be paid 24 hours later (items under £10). It is dependent on feedback being left though and many buyers just don't bother.
That is changing this month to being paid for items that sell for under £25 as soon as you receive positive feedback.

The question now is whether it can be resuscitated.

Items offered for sale on eBay via Auctions are attracting fewer bidders and Sellers are receiving less money for their items
Demand for Buy-It-Nows are also well down and the Buyer Protection Fee is undoubtedly to blame.
eBay HQ in San Jose, California are you listening ??

No they are not as they do not visit the boards.

and both in the exact same location 🙂
and part of the Board usage policy is.......The use of false registration information or creating multiple accounts for use on eBay's boards for the purpose of disruption or to avoid detection may result in permanent sanction or suspension of all associated registrations.

I think yorkscollectables has enjoyed the limelight so much that they have donned a bikini for attention.

Well the syntax in part of that last post was identical.
Maybe they have a cross dressing multi personality thing. Like Dame Edna.

What do you expect from someone who marks their own comments as the solution to their own threads, self qualifies their own ill informed opinions as FACT and accuses anyone who disagrees with them of being paid to disagree.
All from the same playbook.

nor have i, i normally only get one person bidding anyway! Situation normal for me, although i have been having a good year so far, mind you december was dire, no sale until 28th. Common sense says though that before christmas people are not looking for normal everyday clothes.
