I just discovered that I paid some insertion fees on items I listed on the 30th March - end of month. I am a private seller and I assume that I made more than 300 listings that month and I just got my timing wrong. I sell very little and just relist what I have in the hope someone may bid.
How do I know how many listings I have made that month?
I actually did a bulk relist and didn't appear to get a warning, If I had re-listed individually would it have shown at the bottom as a fee and a listing count?

Thanks, I never thought of it as a promotion (yes I remember 80% promotions.....) was it more than 300 a month in the past?
No 1 or 3 day listings just bad timing on my part and lack of knowledge, I am sure I have never had it happen before even when I re-listed 100 listings a week.

If you look near the bottom of your Seller Hub there is a part that says Promotional Offers, there it will show you how many of the 300 you have used and how many you have left.
Did you make any 1 day or 3 day auctions? If you do these you get charged a 35p insertion fee even if you still have free listings left as these aren't included in the free listings.

Are you sure that you didn't add an optional upgrade?
A short duration listing costs 35p per listing, as does listing in two categories. A Reserve costs 4% of the price you set as a reserve price.
Yes, if listed individually you would have seen the fee.

Thanks, just listed too many without realising the limit was 300 a month!

Yes it used to be 1000 free listings a month for private sellers. I believe they changed the amount about the same time as they got rid of the final value fee for private sellers last year.

I was caught by this eBay game, too. That "Promotional Listings" cryptic heading, which I always thought was for promotions, gives you the running total, as I think has already been explained. However, there is another catch in addition to the 1-3 listings that aren't free: if you MANUALLY relist items, they re-register & the tally skyrockets: relist 10 items 3x in a month manually, & that's 30 from your 300 allowance. You HAVE to use auto-relist to avoid that. Auto-relist counts only with the first re-listing.

When you set up an auction style listing you need to make sure that the toggle switch for auto relist is on (blue). You can set it to auto relist up to 8 times, which won't count as an extra listing.
In the Pricing section, far right at the top is a menu, click on that and you'll see these options appear:

Hidden in plain sight! Thanks
