Do not sell your items here.
I am having to post this on my partners account as conveniently eBay has indefinitely suspended my account. Please if you was like me an honest customer that had a hobby/ passion for selling luxurious items as a little side hustle - think carefully I would not sell anything here. Firstly, read through your User Agreement CAREFULLY. If eBay feel you are doing something THEY consider as breeching their security (which by the way could be you simply forgetting send an invoice of a purchase) they will indefinitely suspend your account and HOLD any sales that you've made on to that account. I am heavily pregnant, currently renting and now that eBay has suspended the account I can no longer pay for my bills next week, I was rushed to hospital last night as all the stress the company caused me it nearly led to be have an early birth of my first child. Not only this I have stressed my mental illness I currently suffer from to numerous advisors that hang up the phone on me.
This company is vile. I am writing this message with tears rolling down my eyes because I am about to be homeless. They are refusing to give me my 7k from a sale I made and was approved by EBAY last month. They have said this sale could be held for up to 170 days or more. If you type into google indefinite ebay suspension you will see a list of customers that have gone through this exact experience. They will not tell you why your account was suspended but simply suspend it. I am having to call everyday send messages/ emails every other hour to fight for my money to be released. They keep saying they are holding my money as it's part of their process. They do not tell you how long the money can be held for just that they are holding it and that's final nothing you can do about it. Bearing in mind your account is suspending so they have already come to a conclusion, so really they are investigating nothing just holding on to your money. And they can do this because you would have signed in the user agreement to allow them to hold your funds. I am a honest seller, I would never sell an item that is fake. I take pride in doing immense research and only buy for legitimate places. there was nothing illegal from what I done. It was simply that I was a new seller that made a lot of money in short period of time.
My family need this money, we could be homeless it's extremely serious. I am begging for my own money at this rate. If you read this, please please think twice before you use this platform to sell.

Yes ebay with all their nonsense policies is a scam. There is this new thing called boost yiud listing which they that a further fee from. The thing is they only add bots to your view count or just show you what you would have seen anyway. Example I havd a few listing and although it is on the first page when its typed in the search column the view count dows not change infact in 4 weeks i have had no extra views, really ?0. I have sat in the same room with 4 different accounts and after asking them to view the item the count does not increase, this is to fool you in thinking boosting the listing will increase view, no it will not.
Another listing I did boost and obtained 100 watchers with over 1000 views, in the end 4 bidders with silly offers. 96 bots.
I pointed this activity to them and they have not bothered to get back to me or pretend its a bad line and disconnect me.
The whole set up has become a scam.

All of your items state "cash on collection" but that is ONLY an option.
Any buyer can choose to pay online if they prefer to do so ,what would you do if they chose to pay that way ?.

This is distressing to read. EBay , like banks, are required by law to "hold" funds from transactions over a certain value due to Money Laundering regulations which require investigations into those transactions. It does seem surprising that someone in a very precarious economic position like you are able to trade in £7,000 items but the sale should clear if what you say is true and you will receive your funds.

The OP who had £7000 held posted this in November last year - so let's hope they do have their money by now.

I hope you found a way to sue them and won as much money as possible. What a despicable, shady, criminal thing for ebay to pull.

They hold my funds too and permanently restrict my account. So frustrating. Not sure if i can still get my money..

I can see that your listings are live.
No idea what you mean by "getting my first 20 listings from the USA".

@oceanwavex If I search for 'vintage worthingtons mirror' yours is the second listing that appears in my UK search.

Have you checked which categories are being searched on the results page. If a change has been made to which categories it searches, that might be the reason? Click on "All" if it's not highlighted.
But even that might not be the reason. Ebay sometimes decides to "Streamline" the results and just ignores listings.
I think the only way to guarantee that your ads. get visibility these days is bribery , sorry I meant Sponsor your ads. and pay ebay extra to show them to buyers.

Wow 7k that's bad!! I just asked in a chat if I could have their Legal team address if anything went wrong ( or basically they don't do what they say etc ) of course he tried to palm me off with he can't give those details out and tried refer me to the user agreement link. I told him this isn't correct and to trade here they need to have a legal address. He tried telling me contact trading standards if anything happens I'm not happy with. I gave him the ebays Legal team address if they need to be served & told him also I work for TS. I went back to check, what he said was done but didn't show it when he said at first was done, had changed at all seeing as it takes a couple hours, but funnily enough it was now instantly saying done. This site has been a nightmare for Years!! It was good in getting stuff sold at 1 point but if you got hit by a scammer. No matter how much proof you gave ebay would decide in buyers favour and break not only their own T&Cs , but UK Law, which they state they have to follow in their T*Cs. Yet the blatantly don't. I've had a buyer buy using click & collect which I refuse now as you don't know their address if you get scammed ( I want their address to chase them if they gonna do this) at the time though he wanted it quickly for wife's birthday and said I noticed click collect was near me I could drop off, he instead offered to collect. He came gave a disapproving look to it being on a council estate and of course after having the item 2 weeks and his wife wearing it in a 40c heatwave he claims wants return as metal wore off turned her arm green ( all lies, he had complained after buying bought her having fat wrists so I said I had some links I coukd lengthen chain and did for free. It was clear her arm in his pic had dents in because it was still to tight and not green but bruised) despite this guy had collected the item in person which confirms all fine Ebay STILL allowed him to return it for his money back. T&Cs state private sellers aren't responsible for any wear & tear happens after item is bought yet they broke uk law here. Also I got the item back there was no wear at all it was in perfect condition still. And another buyer bought it and loved. Another 1 a girl I offered discount on 2 dresses not only tried get discount but asked to just have 1 dress for free if bought other. Which was know they were very popular y2k vintage on IG and I could've asked 3x the price. Course as soon as she gets both dresses. One pink but the other Pumpkin 🎃 orange right before Halloween she claims there's a problem with both. Ebay ignored my pics & video proof and gave her instant right to return for refund ( I had withdrawn money though luckily at this point) of course she then Claims the Free return Label they provide and she has nearly 2 weeks!!! ( Rodiculous amount time) to use DOESN'T WORK, So Ebay then demand I buy her a prepaid return label at my expense and I have 2 days to do so or she jeeps the items lol!!. Her phone number was in the details so I phoned her & she instantly capped it. Starting saying she would phone police , told her go ahead. Funnily enough I downloaded WhatsApp month or so later and as I was using it I saw a photo & name. And it was her!! There she was in her SCHOOL UNIFORM!! So she shouldn't legally have been on Ebay. Bottom line she got 2 expensive dresses and her £260 back which just the pink one alone sells for twice that.. They are terrible. I stopped using them but tried again other year & this time used their packlink which I never bothered with before first 2 items went through fine. But then on last sale I sold a xs bikini & over a. MONTH Later packlink had suddenly tried claim it was over weight size etc ( it was it was in a rm size letterbox box and well under 1kg) yet they wanted to now charge £7 to my account which was taken back by my bank. Ebay wouldn't budge on the fact their courier are scamming. I've now beggining of year come on to clear out wardrobe and few collectable dresses to be hit by sabotaging. Clearly gonna be from business sellers who sell these type things seen it happen alot on Depop alot ( they'd just get your items that had alot if interest all removed) the same dress I listed on here has been hit5 times, 1 scam account sending full price offer but wanting me to email outside ebay, then I accepted best offer ( losing my watchers) buyer says out they didn't mean accept?! Like what you sent the offer. They just didn't pay and even though I refused cancellation I wasn't able report none payment, I then came on days later after relisting and it having 20 watchers instantly to ( at this point I'd made everything BIN so require instant payment) the dress had been reported so was hidden till I revised, at the same time some with 0% feedback had bought another dress but then instantly demanding to cancel claiming they'd used wrong payment method. I posted the international item through GSP ebay, so it declined cancellation. But of course I've seen lately since their trying to open cases even before delivery date they don't live in Mexico like profile states but in US just like the last buyer who wouldn't pay up & wanted to instantly cancel. Hopefully though these funds say released soon. But for me l EBAY is now even worse at this point and I've removed nearly all listings. I don't need the abuse from bad sellers trying to out what they see as competition when I'm just trying to dehoard my house and make some petty cash to buy stuff for my health. I have really bad ptsd and other MH issues & poor mobility. Its awful.nive been using vinyed for a while and the problems I had their is it's not sending code to attatch my bank so can't recieve funds and have to just respend in the site. Had a few dodhey buys & no CS but otherwise. I'm sticking to them & fb marketplace. MP was good but it's been infiltrated with bots and scams now sadly so doesn't do well. But yh I just want my funds now off here. Its only a few hundred compared to your 7k but I'm not comfortable at all on here. Not since on top its got sellers who clearly like to sabotage accounts with items similar to their niche like Depop did. Depop was worse, chough hood for getting good sales, but bad on CS & that problem. After I left it they changed their formula and it got even worse and lost its 5 star rating to like 1.5 lol. Sorry long rant. On apparently old post it's just what came up when search same problem lol hope you hot your 7k

This is why you need to jeep buyer details , I'd be contacting buyer saying I need item back unused as have not been paid . It really is disgusting they do this. Why cash is king & its best if can sell local for it. No stress or being scammed that way. Might get the odd 1 try or odd disappointment by but otherwise safest. People definitely need to get the legal adress and serve them when they steal money like this
15-02-2025 12:13 PM
Yh the FCA is a weird one I was directed to them once over it might have been gas/elec company and within minutes of speaking to them my utility provider had sent a instant amount of money foe supply if I remember right it was something I was given instant funding. But then down the line on other things they just email you back instead time later like weeks not instant citing they don't deal with such & such a thing despite their site says they do. Tbh most these institutions just back corporates up but it depends on which they are. Like NHS, banks, LA outreaches then they corrupt and deny you despite proof. So it's all about luck who yoi get

The thing is it's anxiety inducing to ask buyers for feedback ( which will release funds) as this could make potential scammers aware your funds are hold & there for very easy for them to get refunded on. Personally on here I screenshot recipient's details if sold in my country so I can get them personally if they try scam

keep your chin up flower you.ll get there ...keep fighting
try citizens advice and take the legal route
15-02-2025 12:22 PM
That's shocking.. if people have had things years they wouldn't have the proof anymore. I'm definitely not selling anymore. Sticking to local or vinted for odd cheap things
