Hello, I am a long time ebayer (more than 15 years) but not sold much recently due to lack of time. Anyway was having a clear out and decided to dip my toe in again and sold a couple of items (less than £20) - all good. Then I decided to sell a higher value item in the low hundreds. Item sold and I dispatched day after payment received. Tracking added to listing and clear and easy to follow. Buyer contacted me and said item is slow in being delivered. I looked it up and responded that weekends and day of drop off are not counted in courier's 3 day promise. 4 days after receipt buyer contacts me to say item doesn't do a certain thing and they had asked me prior to purchase. Buyer did not ask me this so I responded maybe they had me confused with another seller/item. They also opened a return request. I got an email from ebay saying fund are frozen (I am on new ebay payment system not paypal). My listing states no returns accepted. Based on the above communication I declined the return. After I had declined the return the buyer confirmed they had me/my item mixed up with someone else and if they can still return it. I have not responded becauase as far as I am concerned the matter is settled. However I have read that ebay pretty much always side with buyer so I am now wondering if I will get another spurious claim from buyer. In short my question is: Can the buyer open up any other type of case to try and get a refund?
